can i ask my dentist for a bridge? about 10 years ago i went to a dentist dause i had a stain on one of my teeth next to the main ones at the front? had it done and it was ok a few years later i chipped it and i went to a different dentist who took a xray and said i needed root and nerve treatment. had that done and she said she will fit a crown unfortunatly she claims my last dentist had gave me a really big filling and removed half my tooth which was a shock? i had the crown fitted but unfortunatly i think she had taken even more of my tooth and there isn’t enough tooth there now for the crown to stick to and it keeps dropping out? i keep crying cause im sick of been messed with and worrying if its gonna drop out when im out in public i aint eaten for 3 weeks cause im scared to can i ask for a bridge and be done with it?

Friday, March 23rd, 2012!5 Yrs ago I had lost a lot of my top teeth due to decay my dentist said he would have to extract the remaining ones and fit a denture .I was mortified at this as i was only 45 ,After pleading for an alternative, he said he would try and file the remaining teeth down and fit 2 bridges to make a top set of teeth .This was done and for 15 yrs i have had no problems till now. I do have poor gum health despite flossing under bridges and using electric toothbrush with corsodyl toothpaste .I simply cannot bear hygienist cleaning teeth as I have such terrible sensitivity to the cold water and this is something I have always suffered with .My dentist left the practice 5 yrs ago and it was taken over by a young female dentist who when I had 4 bottom teeth fracture extracted them and as i only had 4 teeth left suggested removing them and fitting a bottom denture .unfortunately she had trouble removing them as they were strong teeth and ripped my gums so badly I had multiple stitches .This experience was so horrendous I now am terrified to go back even though my bottom denture is really loose and so uncomfortable .Now I have pain with hot drinks under the end tooth of one of the 2 top bridges. What are my options ? as the thought of her taking out my remaining top teeth and fitting denture terrifies me.i I am on denplan with her and there are no other dentists in my area(cardiff) that will take me unless i go private and I cannot afford that as I am now 60 and on a basic state pension .Hope you can suggest what options I have. thank you regards
I am experiencing pain under one of my new veneers, should I be worried?

I had two porcelain veneers on my canine teeth a month ago. I had a problem with the bite but the dentist did some filing at it all seemed well. However the last 10 days I have been getting pain in one of the veneers, which is sore to touch and also alot of pain moving around that side of my jaw. I went to the dentist and she said i need a root canal she didnt do any X-rays.
Do you think the pain may settle down? The pain comes and goes.
Also wondering why it only started a few weeks after treatment too.

Monday, September 26th, 2011hi i lost a front tooth a year ago,im waiting for a partial denture but when i had the first fit it looked a mess plus now the other front tooth has moves forward and sideways,and my gum is receding upwards its a hell of a mess,plus i cant afford all these costs,do you think root canal would work to striaghten this tooth before the denture goes in. or is there other options for me plus my dentist dosnt speek the best english and we have had wires crossed i think .mabe i should change dentists but worrying about cost aswell as the worry of the mess in my mouth thank you for your time

Monday, September 19th, 2011 Hi I am running into a dental nightmare with a tooth and feeling i need some answers from someone i would trust that i am doing the right thing!
Not enough space on this box!
3 months pain and over 10 visit to dentist!
Long story short. Had old filling replaced with a white one, next day pain round the gum on eating not on bitting. went back Said food impation as the filling was made less proud for better care of the tooth and now the gum aggrivated. lots of mouth care flossing etc Progressed to filling been re shaped to previous style to stop some of the impaction, still no help to shooting pain when food hit the gum. Pain slowly got worse to traveling along my jaw and waking me up at night. Xray showed nothing. Given anitbiotics. then filling taken out and packed. Pain still in the jaw so he went for the root as could see no other possible cause! only to find 2 roots, left for a week and just had another look for Root number 3 which he cant find but now informs me i have a crack and now need a crown! But cant do a crown until he knows if i need to see a specialist for root number 3 and in the mean time i may crack my tooth and loose the whole thing!!! Is it important to find the last root or for some people is there never one???? Not sure if to pay to see specialist before my tooth splits or sit and wait for a few months as has been suggested!
My gut feeling is i had gum infection as it never has caused any pain in impaction or bitting hard and maybe antibiotics may have stopped it getting into the roots. Any addvice much appreciated!
I’ve been on penicillin and the pain is gone but the tooth is still sore, is this normal?
Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 Hi, I have had terrible tooth ace on my front tooth for some time and I can feel a pulsing sensation on the nerve behind the tooth. so I went to the dentist and they adviced me to have root canal treatment on the tooth feeling this would sort the problem out. At the same time I also had an infection, so when they gave me the anaesthetic the tooth did not go numb, so I was then told they would have to control the infection before
treatment was carried out. they put me on penicillin which ive been on for for 3 days now and the pain is gone but the tooth is still a little sore, is this normal?
can you tell me what the long term effects would be of not having my infected tooth removed?
Tuesday, September 6th, 2011I have a continuing infection in a tooth which has had root canal treatment several years ago. There is considerable bone loss now and the tooth gets loose and then tightens up again when the infection has passed. My dentist recommends that I have the tooth removed but I am a bit of a coward. Could you advise me what the long term effects are if I do not have the tooth removed. I have heard that it could cause me to become very ill if I allow it to continue.

i think i need a root canal treatment as the pain in my tooth is slowly getting worse and is becoming difficult to cope with, i have done some research online and have discovered a new treatment called Lesion Sterilization Tissue Repair (LSTR) using a combination of anti biotics (3Mix-MP)
the reason that i want this treatment is because the tooth is not actually dead and is allowed to heal naturally and so does not become brittle and its always better to have a tooth that is able to function as close to 100% as possible!
do you do this treatment at your clinic or have any plans to in the future?

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011Hi Dr Verma, i recently had a root canal and crown placed over one of my front teeth I had never had any dental work like that done before,because of the fact i have had braces for most of my life. after i’d had it done the dentist and the assistance told me it looked great, so i get home and i notice it’s not quite right so i go back to the dentist to tell them about some problems with the crown (it’s obvious that it is too short and a little whiter in comparison to the opposite tooth) and now i have to pay to get the opposite tooth crowned! i feel very embarrassed, hurt, and over all depressed over this situation iam in now, i just finally want a perfect smile. please help, what do i do now?
Do i go back to the dentist or wait?
Tuesday, July 12th, 2011Hi, I have been in agony with toothache since last Thursday. I went to my dentist and was diagnosed with an infection under a crowned tooth and gave me a course of antibiotics to get rid off it. He saw me again 5 days later and drilled through the crown to release the tension caused by the infection and drilled some infection out. He then injected antibiotic into the tooth and put in a temporary filling, until i can receive further treatment. However I have to wait another 2 weeks before he can carry out root canal treatment but I’m in agony but dont know whether i should I go back to see him or persevere. i am trying every painkiller and nothing is helping. What do you suggested. Thanks
