Q.
Hi Dr Patel, I am hoping you may be able to give me some advice; I have recieved conflicting info so far and I’m unsure! Basically I have veneers to my upper teeth and unfortunately one of them now needs a root canal on it as it was damaged during the prep for the veneers and is very painful. My dentist says the rct can be done from the back of the tooth and not affect the veneer. However another dentist has told me that the tooth will likely go dark and show through the veneer, spoiling the look from the front. I am really worried about this. Is there a technique that can be used to avoid the tooth darkening after a root canal? And are you aware of similar cases where the veneers appearance has not been affected after the rct? Many thanks for any advice or info you can give
