Can I get braces on the NHS for £198?

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010
Q.
i had a fixed brace at the age of 11 and then again at about 15. both times my teeth went back to the way they were even though i wore the retainer like asked. i was recently told by my dentist that this may have been due to them not removing enough teeth to make space. i’m now 24 years old and i hate my smile. i have searched around and saw that i can get braces on the nhs for £198. is this correct, and how do i find out more infomation? i dont want to pay thousands as it wasnt my fault enough teeth were not removed.,

My teeth are moving back to their original position after having brace treatment, what should I do?

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010
Q.
I am 17 years old. I had braces and my treatment finished last year. I did get retainers to wear after my braces were removed but I didn’t wear them as often as I should of. I am now starting to notice that my teeth are slowing moving back as there as there are tiny gaps back and also when I put my retainers in they feel really tight. I havn’t been to the orthodontist for over a year because my treatment finished but I’m not sure I am allowed to go back to get the gaps closed again. Any help would be kindly appreciated. Thank you.,

Do you need an orthodontist to alter and reshape the cement or can a dentist do it?

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010
Q.
Andrew, I have a bonded retainer on my upper teeth from orthodontic treatment but the cement glued on the wire feels uneven. Do you need an orthodontist to alter and reshape the cement or can a dentist do it? The last dentist I asked to alter it damaged it so I am thinking of favouring orthodontists but just interested in what you think. Thanks,

Can invisalign help shift the gaps from tooth extractions?

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Moore The midline of my upper teeth is shifted to the right side due to a tooth extraction. It looks awful. I wonder if invisalign could be used to move them back in their place or just correct them so it would not be so visible. Many thanks for your advise in advance.,

Will the removable retainer do the job of preventing my teeth from grinding?

Monday, July 5th, 2010
Q.
Hi I tend to grind my teeth during the night time. I have a mouth guard that I wear once or twice a week during the night (It is bulky and uncomfortable). My question is if I wear my removable retainer on my upper jaw as I have just recently removed my braces, (I have been told I must wear my essix retainer every night for a very long time) do I also have to wear my mouth guard every night to prevent the removable retainer from getting damaged or will the removable retainer do the job of preventing my teeth grinding. Kind Regards.,
