What would be the cost of crown replacement?

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr. Moore. I have had a gold crown on one of my front tooth for 16 years. It was recommended by my dentist to cover a small black mark that was forming on the side of it. I wish to have it removed. Since it has been that long, can it be removed and replaced with a white procelain crown? About how much would that cost?

I have a bridge which is prone to infections plz advice ?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
I have a bridge on the upper left side of my face and it always gets infected. I am so tired of going to the dentist because he says I have an infection and I get put on antibiotics it goes away and comes back. It makes me physically sick. I am tired and depressed. There isn’t pain but more like discomfort. I feel as though someone has hit me in the face.It goes up my nose and gives me a headache I take very good care of my teeth but they are very soft and prone to problems. I hate this bridge. Any suggestions

I had undergone crown replacement recently after which sensitivity persists

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
I recently had a crown replaced. It has been almost 5 weeks know and I feel sensativity to the crown. Should I wait longer for it to go away or is there something wrong. When the crown was first fitted, I felt as if I was biting a small seed. Dr. grinded until it went away. I thought the crown should be made to fit and not come back with that bump. Please advice.

Can porcelain crowns be replaced in place of old crowns?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
Can an all porcelain or ceramic crown be installed in place of an old crown that is bonded onto a metal post. The said tooth is an upper front incisor that had root treatment then subsequently broke.

Can u give me some information about porcelain composite crowns?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi I have a composite crown bonded to a metal post that was fitted 20 years ago when I broke my upper front incisor that I would like to replace for cosmetic reasons. Due to my gums receeding a few mm you can now see a line of grey natural tooth around the gum line. I have asked my dentist about the most natural looking replacement and she is very keen to fit another metal/porceline composite crown. I have never been happy with the one I have, it has always been a different size, shape and colour to my other main incisor so I asked about an all porceline crown and she said that her practice fits procera crowns but that because I have a metal post and not a ground down tooth to use as an anchor that an all porceline crown would be too thick and would break. I made it clear that cost was not a consideration but she insisted that a composite crown was my best bet. Apart from the crown my teeth are completely average, they are average size, shape, colour etc. Your opinion would be valued. Thanks

(as I have no pain,or bleeding) b,how much I can expect to pay, depending on what work will be needed.c,whether you can tell me what are my options? I hope you can answer my question as soon as possible.

Can u gimme some information about porcelain crowns?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
I need a crown for one of my upper central front teeth, my dentist has suggested that I have the crown which is totally made of porcelain – it is the most expensive option but my main concern is will it be as strong as the porcelain crown with the metal interior?

can u suggest an alternative for night guard?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi,I have recently been told by my dentist that the damage to my teeth is caused by grinding during the night. This is evident as i have very bad wear on my two front teeth. They are a lot shorter than my other top teeth and have formed an arch shape. It has got to the stage where people are noticing and i am reluctant to smile.I have been given a night guard to wear but i feel my teeth need to be treated with caps or veneers as well as the further protection that the guard will give, what do you recommend?

What are the advantages of Zirconium crown?

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009
Q.
I am in a dilemma as to whether or not I should go for a bonded gold or precious metal crown or zirconia crown for my LL6. What are the advantages of the more expensive zirconia crown? Many thanks for your time and expert advice.
