Can porcelain crowns be replaced in place of old crowns?

Q. Can an all porcelain or ceramic crown be installed in place of an old crown that is bonded onto a metal post. The said tooth is an upper front incisor that had root treatment then subsequently broke.

A. This is quite dfifficult to do as the post tends to shine through the porcelain although you can use a Proceraor Zirconium crown to mask the greyness of the post.

Thank you for answering my earlier question about a new crown. Your answer has left me with another question though. If my choice of crown is now so limited due to the dark metal post, is is possible/worth it to get the post replaced with something else?
