Can I hv denture fitted by having most of the teeth pulled?

Monday, October 19th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Caplan, My front left tooth has gone very crooked and exposed a large part of the root and is extremely loose, the 3 teeth to the left of that are missing and i wear a bridge which has contributed to the twisting, the next 3 teeth are not in good condition and the gum has receeded. on the right side my front tooth is chipped, the next 2 teeth are slightly longer and the gum is receeding, the molars on the right are not bad but there are just gaps and 1 is missing. would it be better to have most of the teeth pulled and a denture fitted as there are only about 8 teeth on my upper jaw and most are not up to the job. could you give me advice and a rough estimate of cost. I live in North London, not too far from St Albans. Many Thanks

Is six months braces is suitable or bridges for crowded teeth?

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have severe overcrowding of my upper 4 front teeth. Recently i went to a dentist who suggested the six month brace, however i went to another dentist and she recommended that i have my four teeth extracted and a bridge put in place. This dentist said that the six month smile does not work on teeth which are severley crowded. I’m so confused, im not sure what to believe. I find i just get everyone building my hopes up and then getting blown out the window the next minute! (sorry just had to have a lil rant!) i would appreciate your opinion as to whether six month smile braces are suitable for severe crowded teeth and if not is bridging the next option? Many thanks

Thursday, October 8th, 2009
Q.
I am thinking of having some dentistry done in Phuket when I visit later this year, where would I be able to find out a properly qualified and experienced dentist? I basically need bridges and crowns replaced and it is just too expensive in this country. Your advice would be gratefully received Thanks.

Will my teeth get pulled out during dental impression

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009
Q.
My gum specialist has recommended that I have a night guard made (michegan splint) by my dentist. I have recently had non surgical deep cleaning and scaling treatment. I suppose what I am concerned about might seem silly. I have a bridge and I’m really worried that when the dental impression is being done it might get pulled out. Thank you for your help.

The bridge on my front tooth came out what are my options?

Sunday, October 4th, 2009
Q.
Hi,  I am 43. I had a bridge to replace one of my front tooth around 6 years ago. It was one of those which has a metal wing attached to the healty tooth. Things went well for long time but then it came out and I went to dentist to re-installed and it last one month the first time and a week the second time. Now I done it for the 3rd time and it is in place for more than a month but I have to very carefull not to eat in front and it really fills unconfortable. Implant are quite expensive and knowing that I have a crown next to the bridge whet will be the next best thing to do? Will a full replacement of the bridge help? Thanks
