Tuesday, April 20th, 2010
Q.
Hi, my dentist recently took impressions of my teeth for a mouth guard at night because i have been grinding my teeth and have awful headaches. It cost 300 euro and i asked could this tray be used for teeth whitening if i bought the gel, he said no that i would hhave to have another appointment for that! Could this tray be used, are they not similiar? Many thanks.

Is it normal to suffer from such sensitivity from dental crowns?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010
Q.
i have had all zirconum crowns on my top teeth and 6 on the bottemas i was told this was the best option for me ,this as cost me so much money but im always in pain . when i close my mouth it feels like my jaw doesnt relax properly although my bite feels ok other than it feels like im putting pressure on the top 5 tooth along when i close my mouth ,then i start to get pain in 5th tooth it feels like it is coming from round the gum area although and then this causes the tooth next to it to hurt .my bit feels realy good took a while to get used to the teeth ,but im still getting alot of sensertivaty on the bottem 4 front teeth my teeth feel realy good other than the 5 th tooth on top which feels like im putting pressure on it when i close the teeth together .,and is it normal to get so much sensertivaty mainly in bottem,

Is there an effective alternative to porcelain veneers?

Friday, April 9th, 2010
Q.
Is there any effective alternative to porcelain veneers to improve chipped teeth? I have 2 frontal teeth in my upper gum and two in my lower gum that have fairly minor chipping, probably from grinding my teeth when I was younger. The teeth themselves are strong and healthy and hence I do not wish to consider planing them down and replacing them with veneers at this point. Is there any treatment that could “sand” the chipped areas away?,

Monday, March 22nd, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr Moore, My dentist said I am clenching my teeth because I am having pain in the left side of my face ,I also have neck & shoulder pain. What can be done for tooth fangs due to teeth grinding?

Monday, February 15th, 2010
Q.
Hi. I am thirty years old. I have been grinding my teeth in my sleep for most of my adult life. I now wear a gum guard to prevent any further damage. The only trouble is my two front top teeth look more like fangs now and are really thin at the ends. these two teeth are also over crowded and turn into each other. I would love veneers but I am worried about damaging them because of my habbit. Please help. Thanks.,

Tongue thrust is causing my front teeth to separate

Thursday, November 12th, 2009
Q.
Hi There, I have a tongue thrust, and it is causing my two front teeth to separate in an upside down V. This is concerning to me because I wore braces for 4 years (about 7 years ago) and did speech therapy to re-train my tongue. I have a night guard that I wear although not regularly because it is uncomfortable, despite that it is in rest that the pushing occurs. Would veneers be a viable option to correct this cosmetically, while continuing to wear a guard at night?

Could nightguard be possibly causing pain in my gum?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009
Q.
I have been trying to wear a nightguard /splint. But it’s causing me pain especially on one side where I have a bridge. In the morning it seems like the pain is in the gum under/behind the bridge area. It’s like one side feels alright but this side isn’t. I was hoping maybe you could shed some light on why this might be happening. Your thoughts on this are much appreciated. Thank you.

Q.
Can teeth grinding be corrected with Invisalign? And does a dentist have to have special training in Invisalign care?
