Could my night guard be used for tooth whitening?
Q. Hi, my dentist recently took impressions of my teeth for a mouth guard at night because i have been grinding my teeth and have awful headaches. It cost 300 euro and i asked could this tray be used for teeth whitening if i bought the gel, he said no that i would hhave to have another appointment for that! Could this tray be used,are they not similiar? Many thanks.

A. Hi Edel unfortunately with out looking at the tray it is difficuilt to say,but with the bleaching trays they are made to fit accurately over the margins of your teeth so all the tooth is covered. With a bite guard it is not usually as accurate so you may not get full coverage of which will not fully whiten all the surface of your tooth. thank you for your enquiry
