Hi, I wondered if you would be able to offer me some advice? My teeth are badly chipped, in fact they are chipped down nearly half way. My dentist keeps commenting on how bad they look and had suggested I should have bonding at££100 per tooth! I have just had a baby and my teeth have become loose as well,my dentist suggested a periodontist at £50 for consultation and £59 per x ray!! I can not afford any of this treatment – can any of this be fixed on the NHS?I don’t know what else I can do, it’s not just for cosmetic reasons that I need these chips fixing. They’re causing my teeth to feel sensitive and I can’t eat very well either. I can’t afford to go back to this dentist, maybe if I could set up a finance scheme or something, perhaps? Any help will be great, thank you.

Can I Have My Chipped Teeth Fixed By The NHS?
Friday, July 12th, 2013My New Retainer Caused My Straight Smile To Look Misaligned, What Can I Do?
Wednesday, July 10th, 2013hi i wondered if you could please advise me on something? i have had braces on in the past, and my teeth after were perfect, but since having a retainer which i lost on a holiday my teeth moved, and in the front two teeth a large gap has occurred, i went back to the orthodontist and they moulded a new retainer which cost me 60 pound, for a retainer of the moved teeth which i wasn’t happy about, is there anyway of fitting a new brace on free of charge, as the price of braces are too expensive due to fact of i am only 18 and still in college. This means that I can’t receive treatment free through the NHS doesn’t it? I don’t know what to do, the retainer just completely ruined the new movement of my perfectly straight teeth! Surely my orthodontist should do something about this? Thanks for any advice!
My Teeth Are Causing Me Great Distress, Can I Have Them Removed And Replaced With Fake Ones?
Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013Hi when i was a child one of my front teeth didn’t come through properly and became slanted like wonky,my Dentist gave me braces and it didn’t help much it straightened out a bit but when the braces where removed the tooth went back into its original position and has since moved a tooth either side of it while it was going back into position from the braces.Over the years it has caused me a lot of distress i suffered badly with bullying and low self esteem now at 21 i really want this sorting as it would be a huge lift of my shoulders and feel like i can finally smile i haven’t smiled for photos in years because of the issue.Would the best course of action to have the 3 teeth removed and replaced with fake ones? also is this possible on the NHS i cant seem to find anything helpful through google searches which is how i came along this website, also if it helps the 3 teeth are front 3 on my top jaw
I’m 15 And Desperate For Braces, Can You Advise Me?
Monday, July 1st, 2013Hello,
I’m really concerned about my teeth. First of all I absolutely hate them, as I feel my ‘fangs’ stick out and am currently looking into braces. However the teeth to inside (toward the centre of my mouth) are becoming wobbly and i’m really scared they will fall out. I’ve always had problems with my teeth and now I have 4 fillings (that are silver and not white, which I don’t know why) I’m 15 is that helps and currently really wanting braces so any other help on them would be great. I”ll be okay for receiving braces through the NHS won’t I? Is it when you’re 18 and over you have to pay for brace treatment? Otherwise I won’t be able to have anything done because I don’t have any money, I’m only a teenager! Thanks for your help.

The Gaps In My Lower Teeth Are Getting Me Down, What Would Help?
Thursday, May 30th, 2013Hi there Dr Moore, I have a problem with my teeth that I really hope you’ll be able to help me with Basically, I have a gap in my lower bottom teeth and it does lower my confidence. I have been to my dentist but have been told there’s not much that can be done. As I want it completely closed I wanted to know how much the treatment would be and how much it would cost as I am on benefits at the moment. Most of my bottom teeth have spaces and gaps between them but it does not bother me as much as the gap between my the two lower front teeth. I am desperate to find an affordable cost to get it sorted. I really hope you are able to help.
Many thanks.
Can I Have A Large Gap Between My Two Front Teeth Closed Using NHS Treatments?
Wednesday, May 15th, 2013Hi, I have a very large gap between my 2 front teeth. In fact, it is so large that I can wobble a pound coin between them as I’ve gotten older (I’m 31 now). My teeth have moved quite a bit and my problem is that the gums between my teeth are getting damaged due to biting food and are becoming very tender so I have been looking at treatment used but it all seems very expensive. I never had braces as a child because the ones available were very large and I would have been bullied when wearing them. I don’t know what else to do and I am becoming very self-conscious about it now. What kind of treatment would you suggest and would I be able get my teeth fixed on nhs? as I currently don’t work, thank you for any help.
I’m 18 And In Full Time Education, How Much Would It Cost To Have My Overlapping Teeth Corrected?
Thursday, May 2nd, 2013HI. 🙂
I have near perfect teeth in that all of them are straight, but the curve of my jawline is stronger on one side of my mouth. Consequently, there is less of an overlap of my bite on that side. It also makes the teeth on that side appear bigger when I smile because they bulge out slightly more. It is not a very huge problem and I can chew fine. No one else notices it but what forms of correction could I get? I don’t think I require anything too drastic because as I said there is no pain and I can eat just fine. However, is there any chance of this small problem developing into something more serious? If possible, could you give me a cost range? I am 18 and in full time education and so I understand that NHS treatment will not be an option for me anymore.
Thank you for your help in advance!
