Hi, since i can remember i have had really bad teeth , my bottom ones are rotten and just before christmas last year my front tooth fell out , i think that i would need a full set of new teeth, is there any way that i could come to see one of the experts on this website for example yourself. i should be on the nhs but no dentists around my area are taking any nhs patients on so i am willing to go privately (i know it will cost a fortune but there is nothing else that i can do). ive never been able to smile and its getting to a point where im really embarassed to go out , i just want to be able 2 smile with a whole set of nice teeth. please help thanx

My filling in my front tooth is causing me extreme pain and i cant eat anything what do i do

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
Q.
Five days ago I had two fillings in the back which don’t hurt but one i had in my front tooth is causing me extreme pain in not just that tooth but all of the others, I also had a scrape and polish so I thought they would be sore but not to this extreme, I can’t eat or drink anything especially anything cold, but I can’t afford to pay for more treatment if something has gone wrong. I’m worried in case its really serious.

I would like to have a bonding to fix the gap inbetween my front teeth can i get it done in NHS?

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi, I am under 18 years of age, and I have a gap in between my teeth; this maybe due to the piece of skin attatched in between it, I believe its called a frenum or frenulum. I would like to have bonding to fix the gap, would this be free under the NHS? And if I was to have the piece of skin cut if I decide not to have bonding, will this get rid of my gap? Thankyou

I got crown fitted by NHS dentist and now ive a large black dot on the tooth. what is it advice

Saturday, July 18th, 2009
Q.
I have recently gone to an NHS dentist for a crown fitting ( at the side) At the time of my consultation I asked if the crown would be procelain and I was told Yes, ( I had said I would pay extra for porcelain if necessary) I found when I arrived home that I have a large black dot on the underside of my tooth and a big black mark at the back.I will be complaining to the Dentist next week as I look as if I have a rotten tooth which needs filling. Have you heard of this type of situation before? Surely this is unacceptable – especially as I have had all my fillings replaced with white ones ( not at this dentist I might add) Many Thanks

There is small gap between my lava crown and the gum what can be done to fix it?

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Safeer, i have recently had 4 lava crowns fitted to my front teeth . The 2 on my left side look wonderful ! the problem is the other two are not as good, on one the margin is visable (only a very small amount 1 mm ) and i am worried that the exposed original tooth is going to decay more quickly, and my other concern is my gum hasn’t filled the gap between the crowns leaving a deep recess and not only is it not athestetic it also gets food stuck in this gap ! do you think im within my rights to have the dentist rectify the work free of charge ? what can be done about the gum?? i am so worried! I had to work so hard to pay for the crowns. should i ask for a refund ? the dentist was a general dentist in haywards heath. thank you so much for helping me i am so pleased people like u help people like me god bless you

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have had a ”clicky jaw” for as long as i can remember, when i eat, talk, yawn…..Other people can hear it also. It has started to get really painful and i feel like it is starting to effect my speech. I would like to know if this is diagnosed with a dentist or doctor and if it is with a dentist, is the treatment expensive? Kind regards
