Q.
Hi there, I’ve recently turned 18, and there’s something I’ve been wanting to address for many years now, but I’m not sure how to bring it up with my dentist, and also, how to go about it. The issue is that I still have three ‘primary teeth’ left (if that’s the correct term). Two of which are my canine teeth- I am incredibly uncomfortably with the presence of these teeth, as they are out of line with the rest of my teeth, and smaller. The question that I am most keen to have answered is, how can I fix this? Would I have to get them removed, and have implants (as it doesn’t appear the adult teeth will make an appearance), or would veneers, or lumineers be more appropriate? Also, are the latter available through the NHS? I would very much appreciate any feedback, as this is something that has affected my confidence regarding smiling; there is rarely a photograph taken of me where I’m smiling with my mouth open. Many Thanks,
Dr Kailesh Solanki
