How can the pressure be removed from a wisdom tooth to stop it from growing outwards?

Friday, August 27th, 2010
Q.
Hello, my boyfriends wisdom tooth is growing outward and into the cheek at the side. This causes him much pain on and off and has done for at least 5 years now. He has been to the dentist, but they said that they wouldn’t want to remove the tooth, because it could paralyse the face. Please can you tell me, can he have the tooth removed next to it, to take the pressure off the wisdom tooth and stop it growing into his cheek ? Many thanks, ,

I just had two nerves removed and I’m on considerable pain. Is this acceptable; should the procedure have been painless?

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010
Q.
I’ve just had two nerves removed from an upper molar, I was in agnoising pain during the procedure, my dentist was unable to remove the third nerve, I’ve been sent away with antibiotics and a return appointment to remove the third nerve and refill the tooth. I’m in considerable pain now, two hours after my visit. Is this acceptable treatment? Should this procedure have been painless?,

I am due to have a crown fitted but I am suffering from pain in the tooth nerve. Should I have root canal treatment?

Monday, August 16th, 2010
Q.
One of my back teeth has recently git damaged and I was told by my dentist that I would need a crown. He sprayed the back tooth to see if the nerve was still active, and I nearly hit the roof as it was so painful, my dentist said he had to do that to see if the nerve was ok. My dentist has ground down the tooth ready for the crown, and Im due to have the crown fitted on Friday, but since yesterday I have had cronic pain around that tooth, it feels very nervy and painful, should I have had a root canal? and will it be ok to just add a crown over the nerve? Id hate to have a crown fitted and then suffer with this pain. Thanks,

Will I experience pain after the veneers have been placed?

Friday, August 6th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr. Patel! I have decided to put veneers on some of my upper (healthy) teeth because they looked really bad, and have opted for emax. My dentist said he will not remove the nerves of the teeth, but I am affraid that I will be in pain even after the veneers will be placed since it so happened with other teeths that I have recently covered in emax. Is it correct not to remove the nerves before permanently fixing the veneers?,

Would a 3 week gap between treatments cause a problem for me?

Thursday, July 8th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Tennet, Last time I had a problem with a tooth, I was not aware of the problem until I went on a plane journey and experienced pain shortly after take off. Today I have just started root canal treatment which may take a further two visits to the dentist. I am a little worried because I am due to fly to Australia and may not have completed the full course of treatment by the time I leave. Do you think , having started the treatment, that I am less likely to experience a similar experience during the flight? And, would a three week gap between treatments cause a problem. I may be worrying unnecessarily but would not like to have problems during the flight. The dentist is hoping to be able to clean the canal at my next visit in a week’s time and depending on it’s condition complete the work three days later which will be the day before I fly. Obviously, I could have the tooth removed but would prefer not to do so at this stage. Advice on my options if this happens would be appreciated. Your advice would be most welcome. Yours sincerely,
,
