What is a cheap way to treat discoloured and misaligned teeth?

Friday, January 15th, 2010
Q.
Hello, I am a 20 year old college student and since middle school, my teeth have been severely discolored and unaligned. Everyday I wish for a better smile, but I always come to the conclusion that this is how mother nature made my teeth look. I want to live confidently knowing I have a beautiful smile so now I am seeking any way possible to achieve this. Unfortunately, veneers and lumineers and braces are all very expensive. Where can I found an inexpensive, beautiful, and happy smile?,

I am unhappy with braces treatment – what can be done?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
My orthodontist recomended I get braces which cost £3000 instead of free NHS braces. I got them for a year and a half. I was extremely unhappy with the results so he refixed the braces. Im still unhappy my two front teeth stick out slightly ive now had the braces on for another 6 months and there is still no improvment. Ive being wearing alastic bands in many different ways ever since I first got braces put on all the time. He said they would help but they havent. Is there anything that would help improve my teeth which dont involve Veneers or crowns?,

Are braces only option for misaligned tooth?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
My teeth are in fairly good condition with the exception of one tooth which sits back on my bottom row. This causes a shadow and it sometimes looks darker. Is teeth whitening appropriate or will the other teeth seem so white that the shadow will look worse? I realise the answer is probably a brace but at 40 years old I am loathed to do this.,

Are there any alternatives for straightening crooked teeth?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
Hello, i’ve got a problem, My two front teeth they are kind of crooked, the front tooth on the right is overlapping the left hand tooth. And also my canines are sticking out of the gum. More pushed out more than anything. What would you insist on doing? Bracers is one option, but is it possible to get a brace that is removable, for example: Like a retainer or something like that? Because i’ll admit I am completely ashamed of my looks. Teeth wise anyway. And I like my teeth their clean and healthy. I just couldnt see my self wearing a brace in clear daylight. So maybe is their something I can get that i can take off instead of a permanent brace.,

Dentist recommended brace-hooks for fang tooth but I am unsure

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
i had full traintracks when i was 15 – i had a “fang” tooth which decided to divert itself to grow out through my pallet, so i underwent an op to have a small section removed so the tooth could be fully seen, and a retainer (up in the pallet) to pull it down, and then have braces – i had these removed just before my 17th birthday, and was given “invisalign” type retainers – the ones that slot over the teeth instead of up into the pallet. however, i used these for many months, having to go back to the hospital to have the orthadontic to remould my mouth and make me up a set to wear. the first set shrunk in the dental cleanser, and the second set wore away againt the tooth which had been dragged across to the rightful place. at 18, it got the the point where the retainer would not just snugly fit, it would put strain on all my teeth, making it difficult to eat as they were so tender. after 4 more years of no retainer, the tooth has moved back slowly to about half a centimetre from the same line all my top teeth follow, making a dark dip in my smile. not only that, the tooth has been wearing away against my lower teeth, and has caused my jaw to sit slightly to the left, to accomodate the “fang” tooth that wont stay! what would you consider for me to get this tooth back to the front, and not cause me any more agro? iv seen my dentist who has offered me a retainer with brace-hooks attached to some of the surrounding teeth to pull it forward, but there is no guarantee this will fit in the space as the teeth have moved, and could cause even more shift from the surrounding teeth. help! please!,

Is Invisalign suitable for mild crowding?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
I was wondering if Invisalign braces would be suitable for someone who has mild crowding on the bottom jaw line and a diastema (with a muscle in the gap) between the two front teeth? I realise that I would need to have a frenectomy before brace use but, in theory, could this work? Many thanks,,
