my canine tooth hasnt been able to fully come down

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
Q.
Hiya, Im 26, my teeth are crowded, especially on the right hand side, my canine tooth hasnt been able to fully come down and has pushed the tooth next to it some way behind my front tooth, for some reason it has started to feel a little uncomfortable, the rest of my teeth are straight-ish they dont bother me but i am getting quite self concious about the canine/(fang look) i have looked into invisalign, but it seems very very expensive, is there a way of sorting out the canine tooth so it can grow down properly with out paying for invisalign ? also is it possible to just move a few teeth with invisalign ? would this make it cheaper or is this just not possible ? Thankyou for your time 🙂

am i suitable for 6 month smiles braces

Monday, November 3rd, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr Bohara I came to the website initially as I am interested in the ‘6 month smiles braces’ but due to the complex nature of my problem am not sure they are suitable. I was interested to see that you also had experience working with Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. I am 24 and have an underbite for which an osteotomy has been advised. I also require orthodontic treatment first as my upper jaw is has lost the centre line and my teeth have shifted to one side. This is due to the local hospital orthodontist removing one of my upper canines when I was a child in order to apparently reduce the crowding, but which has now apparently caused further complications. My problem is that I am acutely conscious of my appearance, although I have been repeatedly told by the NHS orthodontist that I am being ridiculous. However hard I have tried to rationalise it I cannot change my feelings. I have always been called names such as ‘Chinny’ and have very little self confidence. I dread the thought of wearing the ‘train track’ braces he has told me I must have as I know that I will have unpleasant comments made from collagues and I cannot simply shrug it off. It may sound stupid but the thought of having to wear such braces for an extended period is something I really don’t feel I can do. However, the situation with my jaw and teeth is worsening all the time and affects my eating as I have an open bite and also, I feel, it affects my speech. I wondered whether lingual braces or the 6 months smile braces would be suitable to have in conjunction with the surgery I probably need. Could you please advise me? Many thanks

I’m considering getting Inman Aligners for two overlapping

Monday, November 3rd, 2008
Q.
Hi, I’m considering getting Inman Aligners for two overlapping front teeth and four crooked front teeth at the bottom, I was just enquiring if this would be the cost of two individual treatments or if one treatment cost would cover all works.

I have an underbite should i have surgery and a fixed brace

Monday, November 3rd, 2008
Q.
I am 37 yrs old and have an underbite. I’ve been offered surgery and fixed brace under the NHS but the whole process would take at least 2 yrs. As I am single the thought of wearing a fixed brace at my age has put me off the procedure, but the underbite still bothers me! Is there a compromise such as veneers (which I would obviously have to pay for)? I feel very self-conscious when I smile and welcome any other suggestions to help my situation. ps. The surgeon will not use invisible braces as she says they do not work as well.

Along my upper jaw all teeth are aligned except for my two front teeth plus one is clearly larger than the other with a slight gap between. I am 30 years old, what procedure can be done to rectify it and how long will it take?

different levels of Invisalign accreditation

Friday, October 31st, 2008
Q.
Please can you tell me what the different levels of Invisalign accreditation are? From the Invisalign website (UK) it looks like there are at least three types of doctor: Platinum Elite, Platinum and Silver but I can’t find information on what each one means. Thank you, J.

Hi, I had a removable brace as a young teenager

Thursday, October 30th, 2008
Q.
Hi, I had a removable brace as a young teenager (now 24) to correct 1 tooth that was movingback inwards behind the front 2 teeth. As you look at the teeth its the one next to the front teeth on the right(10?) However over the past few years it has been moving back as it was when I was younger. My other teeth are fine but its just this one thats bugging me. Can another removable brace help move it back where it should be? Not sure if I could handle full braces or afford them!! Thanks Kenny

something other than invisalign express aligners

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008
Q.
Hello Dr. Bohara.I had braces when i was 13 (5 years ago). unfortunatly i took them off with tweezers. Many times i had wore them with many brackets that pop’d out my teeth.I also never wore aligners..i’ve notice how my face change during puberty has my motuh seem’d open even when close, and how i was very unhappy how my face seemed to sink.so last 9 months i’ve recieve my invisalign express aligners, thus my orthodontist said my teeth were in good condition, i wanted to finsh what i started. now i’m on my last set of aligners, im extremly unhappy & uncomfortable how my teeth feel and how my mouth looks as if its been pushed back. My question is if i get braces again, would it push my teeth foward or as it was? is there any other appliance that will help on this matter?

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008
Q.
I got gaps in my teeth i want to know does invisilign close it or the damon brtaces will do it? which one its better? the reason i wanted this done because i been told i grind my teeth and that braces will help stop the grinding.i been to a few consultation, 2 dentist say the clear braces will help, and 2 more dentist say the barces can’t. i want to know what other alternative its there if both my top and bottom teeth meet together, to change the bite so i can stop my grinding.
