My mum keeps getting absesses which means her teeth are being removed, what is causing the abscesses?

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010
Q.
My mother is in her 60s, over the last 12 months she has had abscess after abscess which have required teeth to be extracted to the point where she only has about 3 left. What are the possible reasons for this? Her dentist seems quite happy removing her teeth and not looking for an underlying cause. He is also not doing anything about replacements and she is now finding eating very difficult and the few teeth that are left are causing great discomfort to her bare gums. Please help,

If my teeth continue to get loose is there anyway I can save them?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010
Q.
I am currently under my hygienist whom i see every 3 months. But over the months i have noticed that my teeth are getting looser. I clean with the new corsadyl toothpaste, use mouth wash and the little christmas tree brushes to get in between the teeth. I suppose my question is: if my teeth continue to get loose is there anyway i can save them? or get them replaced?,

Can you advise me on my complex case?

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010
Q.
Hi my problem is that i have gingivitis/periodontitis and late stages of enamel erosion, reasons for the periodontitis is because i am in my teens i think, its aggressive type, caused by the hormones. And my acid erosion was due to my love of coke and brushing my teeth 4 times a day, problem is every time i look for a periodontitis they all seem to offer facelifts and other things, which makes me feel like they are just cheap out to make cash and not really going to improve my current teeth. Would you be able to suggest a periodontitis in Bangor northern ireland, or Belfast or anywhere which is a good periodontist that you would trust, and also i have said to my dentist about my current gum problems she says its caused by my “braces” which have been removed for about a good 9 months. So i am starting to think i should change dentist too, i would like to get crowns before july too though, advice and help on them would be appreciated, thanks for reading my question.,

Can I do anything to fix the gap in my two front teeth?

Monday, May 10th, 2010
Q.
I have a gap in my two front teeth. It is at the top of my front teeth and i feel like it is making its way down. Is there any way of getting this fixed? I heard you can get braces but that is something i don’t want and my teeth aren’t that white so fillings would probably look weird because of the colour difference. Thanks.,

I really don’t want a denture, are there any other alternatives?

Friday, April 30th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have eight remaining front top teeth due to advanced gum disease. I inherited this from my parents, but my dental hygene is very good. I have been told that I have enough bone for 6 implants, but cannot have a bridge because of aesthetic reasons (the teeth would look too long) i was advised I can have a clip on denture with implants. I do not fancy a denture. Could you pleas advise me of any other alternatives . Regards.

Would dental implants work after having a substantial amount of bone loss due to periodontal disease?

Monday, April 26th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have been told I have periodontal disease and I will be starting my treatment for that shortly. I have been told that my bone loss is around 30-40% and I do have a few ‘wobbly’ teeth that my dentist said I will most likely lose. I would like to know that if teeth are lost, would dental implants work on me due to the amount of bone lost? Thanks,
