I am very nervous, what are my options to close the gap in my teeth

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have the first two molars, on lower jaw, taken out by dentist when I was 13yrs of age,(no room for teeth he said) This was very bad experience and ended in hospital. Now unfortunatly I have just found out I have to have 3rd molar taken out, bottom right. I trust my dentist. She has given me choice of ,living with large gap, a denture or inplant. I dont realy want huge gap as allready a bit consoius of exsisting one. But I am very nervous of the surgery required for inplant as well as high cost. Does it hurt as the drilling into jaw sounds quiet bad. I dont want to be given another bad experience. I am 42 and dont want an awful looking mouth

I have a wide gap in the front of my mouth. how do i get it closed

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
I have a wide gap in the front of my mouth. About 15 years ago I had bonding to try to close the gap, however, it really didn’t help. over the years, I have inserted tissue to try to fill in the space (I know it sounds crazy!!) I had been in financial bind for so long that i didn’t have the financial resources to solve the problem. Anyway, now it seems the gap may have gotten a little wider with the insertion of tissue. What I wanted to know is would I be able to get the bonding removed and what is your suggestion for the gap. The size of the gap is about the width of the top of a female pinky finger. I’ve never really spoken to anyone about this matter, so I am really ashamed, but I would like to be able to smile more and be confident about my smile. Any suggestions???

I need braces for cosmetic dentistry for gappy teeth

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Q.
Hiya. I’m 23 years of age and have never worn braces – the dentist stated the only reason I would need them is for cosmetic reasons. I’m very very self-concious of my teeth but next year I am getting married and know my teeth will put a slight dampner on my day given the number of photographs that will be taken. Eek! The main reason being they are ‘gappy’. There is a gap of about 3mm between my two central incisors and about 2-3mm gap between my central incisors and lateral incisors and again the same between my lateral incisors and canine teeth (I’m presuming they’re the right names, I’ve just looked on the internet). My lateral incisors and canines are also slightly twisted with a bit of a sharp edge. I do have an overbite, and when I asked my dentist about a quick fix previously he said that it wouldn’t look great as I would have a ‘horse teeth’ mouth – they’d look too big, and wouldn’t last very long and would cost a lot. I had a check up a few days ago and was meant to ask my current dentist about what I could do however he speaks very little English and I don’t feel confident he would understand what I was asking and vice versa. I desperately don’t have the money to do this but would probably contemplate borrowing money. I’ve trawled the internet but I’m still none the clearer on where to go, or how to start the ball rolling! I’m living in West Yorkshire if you would have any recommendations?? Thanks very much in advance

I have crooked and spaced out teeth, what are my options to get them straightened?

Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Q.
I’m a middle class teenager who’s parents aren’t the richest people in world but do what they can to support us. My dad’s an EMT and my Mom works at a day care. I would like to know your expert opinion on my situation. My teeth are crooked and are really spaced out. I really never smile and avoid talking when I can because of that.I dont want to be the best looking guy in school or the strongest but if I could find some solution to straightening my teeth I’d be happier than I’ve ever been in my life. So I’m writing to ask you what are my options. I know I cant get them fixed by the end of the year, but hopefully before my Junior year. I’m a Sophmore by the way. Help me out if you can. It would mean everything to me!
