I have a gap between my two front teeth. Who or where is the best place to go for treatment that does not involve orthodontics.

I have gappy teeth I am very conscious of them

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have very small, gappy teeth (some of which I’m told are still baby teeth!) and I am very conscious of them. I had the front top and bottom teeth built up in my early teens to close the gap but a gap has appeared again over years and the rest of my teeth are very gappy. I have spoken to various dentists about what can be done but never seem to get a concrete answer – what would you recommend? Thank you.

Just recently they noticed that there was a gap where the crown meets the gum line

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
I had to get a bridge about two years ago and just recently they noticed that there was a gap where the crown meets the gum line on #9 (bridge is from 9-11)and they told me to see a endodontist before I see them cause she wants to make sure I don’t need a root canl before she replaces my bridge, which I can understand! Today I decided to call my dentist to make shure I wouldn’t be charged for the bridge work considering it was not my fault and all and now the doctor is talking about just filling in the gap with filling material! I don’t know if they are just making me take that route cause they don’t want to front a new bridge or what! I also have a five year warranty so they have to correct it right? I’m so confused! I would rather just get a new bridge cause I know from being a dental assistant that filling material doesn’t always stay put for too long and especially on a crown! I need your expert opinion please!!!! Thanks 🙂

I have recessive gums, long wobbly teeth with gaps inbetween

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
I was diagnosed 2 years ago (2 years after the birth of my child) with receeding gums. I had the receeding gum at the lower front teeth cut away to stop more gum from pulling away from the teeth. I am now ‘long in the tooth’ My dental hygiene from diagnosis has been meticulous; I brush, floss, use interdental brushes and a tongue scraper and mouthwash. However, my gums are continuing to receed. There are small gaps forming between most teeth, especially the back molers. I also get a burning sensation in my mouth. I used to smoke on a social basis during my university days but I do not smoke now. My mother lost her teeth to pyrrhoea at the age of 29 after her first child and my sister lost a tooth to pyrroea during her first pregnancy. No roots are exposed as yet. My teeth do not wobble uncontrollably. However, when I eat and food gets trapped between the gaps, my teeth slightly move before I remove the debris with floss and they then settle down again. I have booked in with a specialist but I am worried. I am only 30 and I do not want dentures. My dentist said that I would eventually lose my teeth in my fifties, starting with the lower bottom teeth. I was shocked. What can be done about the gaps between the teeth and my long bottom front teeth? Can the recession be stopped? Your comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
My front two teeth are a bit stick out and gap. Gap is getting more obviously seen between these I think , due to missing of one back tooth. I remove back tooth in last three years because of cavity. What should I do now. I haven’t got confident to smile.

Is it possible to have any gaps between teeth filled in at the same time as having veneers fitted and also if it is possible to have my smile widened?

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009
Q.
Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to have any gaps between teeth filled in at the same time as having veneers fitted and also if it is possible to have my smile widened? my teeth are in an absolutely terrible state and my fear of dentists has stopped me going regularly, i have had a couple of really bad experiences with dentists and have been very ill after 12 Major operations over the past 15 years. unfortunately, because of the amount of painkillers and other tablets i have been on, approx 36 tablets a day, i was not aware when i was suffering any tooth pain and have subsequently lost a lot of my teeth. I am not long out of hospital after a bad bout of Pneumonia and have cut down massively on my tablet income, i feel my illnesses have had my best years and i’ve always been so self concious of my teeth i would like to have a complete makeover of mouth!! I’m sorry to have gone on a bit but if you could help me i would be very gratefull, thank you in advance for aswering my questions and giving me any advice.
