Q.
Hello Dr. Moore, I am sixteen years old and I have ahuge problem. I no enamal on my teeth, My back teeth are the worst, which are black, and front teeth are brown and look like I don’t brush. I always hear kids whispering at school and I really dont have any friends, kids think that I am dirty, but I’m not. My mom can’t afford to fix my teeth, and she tells me I’m beautiful anyway, I want to believe her but just the tourture at school sucks. Do you know of maybe a dental school that would be willing to work on my teeth for free? just so I can help someone learn

I would like to know if it is a good idea to use a dental bridge for the front teeth. If so, how many teeth can be put on a bridge? And, can they be permanent?

i have a big gap in between my front teeth can i have veneers for them or any other options

Thursday, May 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi, i’m 17 and have a big gap in between my front two teeth. A year or two ago, my dentist offered me braces, but i would have to have had like 6 teeth removed, an opperation on my gum to take out a tooth growing behind another tooth and wear braces for 5 year, which at the time, the gap wasn’t that noticable, but over time it’s got worse. My mum said i should speak to my dentist about getting veneers for them. i just wondered if it was possible, or any other options apart from braces there are?

my front tooth are smashed recently and i am very scared of dentist could you say anything

Thursday, May 21st, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr. Bohara… I recently fell and smashed my two front teeth. It was initially thought that both teeth required crowns, but upon further investigation one of them is so badly broken (in layers like an onion I’m told, above the gum line) that I’m going to lose the tooth completely and that an implant is my only option. I grew up in the UK and am absolutely terrified of dentists, have been my whole life so now as a 45 year old female, I’m now faced with what I consider the most devasting dental treatment imaginable. I had perfectly straight natural teeth prior to this and am worried because it’s a front tooth that it won’t be returned to the way it was as I also have to have a bone graft. I will opt for IV sedation but am having trouble getting my head around the fact that I won’t be asleep (I’d much rather be knocked out completely)-I don’t want to be aware of anything or feel anything. Can you offer any advice for me in terms of this being such a prominent tooth and also if I’ll feel anything. I appreciate how busy you are, but would be very grateful for for anything you could say to ease my mind. I would almost have rather broken my limbs than have this happen! Thank you very much for your time Dr. Bohara.

is there any permanent retainer that can be put behind the two front teeth to keep them together

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
I had braces the first time when i was in 8th because I had a gap due to a baby tooth that never grew in. I wore a metal retainer for awhile which had a temporary tooth to fill the empty gap that was now where my baby tooth should of been. Once I had the maryland bride put on my teeth were fine for a few years til about 12th grade then they the gap that was in front started to seperate again and the bridge of course started to get loose. Finally I got braces for the second time when i was older(the same orthodontist too) that work out good. I had a invisalign after that which kept them straight but the minute I took it out they moved. Anyway the dentist said I had a piece of tissue or something thats in the gums that no matter how much they move the teeth they will go back. Now that you read my story I want to know is there a permanent retainer that can be put behind the two front teeth to keep them together.

I was wondering what a good procedure would be to shorten the length of my upper front teeth

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi, I am a little self conscious about my two upper front teeth as they are larger than the rest of my teeth, a little like a rabbit. It isn’t too apparant and i don’t mind it until when i laugh. I don’t think my teeth look good when i’m laughing. I was wondering what a good procedure would be to shorten the length of these teeth or make them appear shorter, and how much this would cost (i’m a student). Thankyou.
