Tuesday, January 4th, 2011
Q.

Hi there,
My gums seem to be receeding and my teeth are crooked and discoloured. I have a few gaps from my youth. I do not smoke.

I am basically looking for a new set of teeth without temporary dentures – I want a peramant fix. I am 37 years old. What do you advise?

I was told that I should’ve been given more whitener to use at home, what should I do?

Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Q.

I had made teeth whitened at the dentist using the Zoom 2 technique in Dec 2010, I was very pleased with the results since they went 7 shades lighter, and they werent that bad in the 1st place. I was given one application of de-sentising solution and one application of whitener to use 48hrs later. Two months later my teeth are the same colour as before, I dont drink red wine, tea, coffee or smoke and was wondering if this was normal. I look after my teeth and rang the dental surgery this morning who said I should have had more whitener to use at home, could I have your advice please

Mark, i have been thinking of improving my smile and want to know the best option. My front tooth is discoloured, dead, and now the tooth next to it has a dirty mark on it, one of them is overlapping a little. I want to feel confident with my smile, the rest of my teeth are good, except for the fact that i have metal fillings and would like white, what do you suggest, and do you have any idea of cost, could i get this makeover in 1 day…

What can I do about bonding that has become discoloured?

Friday, December 3rd, 2010
Q.

I am a 47 year old female. I had peridontal surgery 22 years ago and am fortunate to still have my teeth, however I am not happy with the looks of them. Some years back my dentist bonded them to make the more stable. The bonding has discolored from the color of my teeth and no longer looks very good. I have had it redone a couple times but he says it doesn’t adhere well after the first time because of not having the porous tooth surface to adhere too. I do have a lot of bone loss, but it has held its own for all these years and when I smile you really can’t see that. Guess the discoloration is my main concern. He talked about a partial but I’m not ready to give up my teeth yet. Thanks

What are the best teeth whitening options for stained enamel?

Thursday, November 18th, 2010
Q.
My front two teeth are discouloured and it is in the enamel caused by too much floride when I was growing up. I have tried tray bleeching kits via my dentist but my teeth are still noticebaly stained. I am interested in the laser whitening but I am not sure it would work and therefore would veneers be the best option? I would like all my teeth whitened but especially my front two. Would lazer whitening work on discoloured enamel or are veneers my best bet? How much would this cost (approx)?

What would be my best option to replace very old crown and how much would it cost?

Thursday, November 4th, 2010
Q.
MY FRONT RIGHT TOOTH WAS BROKEN AS A CHILD AT THE AGE OF NINE. A PERMANENT CAP WAS FITTED AT THE AGE OF 16, AND IS STILL ON NOW (I’M 38), SO THE CAP IS NOW 22 YEARS OLD. I HAVE NOTICED IT IS QUITE DISCOLOURED NEXT TO MY OWN TEETH, AND SITS LOWER ON TH GUMLINE. THE TOOTH TO THE RIGHT OF IT ALSO SITS SLIGHTLY BEHIND IT AND LOWER ON THE GUM LINE TOO. I AM SELF CONSCIOUS AND DON’T LIKE TO SMILE/TALK TO PEOPLE I DON’T KNOW WELL. WHAT WOULD BE MY BEST OPTION TO REPLACE IT, HOW MUCH SHOULD I EXPECT THE TREATMENT TO COST, AND HOW LONG COULD I EXPECT IT TO LAST?,

Q.
Hello, my teeth are stained under the existing veneers and I will be having them replaced shortly. What would be the best type of veneer to not show through any of the under stain as my other teeth are of a white appearance. Regards, ,
