Would the removal of my two upper canines improve my overbite?

Friday, July 2nd, 2010
Q.
I’m interested in having my upper two canine teeth removed, and replaced with a bridge or dentures. I’m 23 years old and I’ve had a severe overbite for years. The overbite is manageable by holding my jaw a bit foreword (a now natural habit). I’m not interested in correcting the overbite. However, I have one problem I’m set on fixing: Those top 2 canine. My canines have caused my front-upper gumline to push outward unnaturally, giving me the appearance of a monkey or the “Homer Simpson” look. The maxilla juts out and gives m y face very boxy appearance around the mouth. I’m suggesting that if my 2 upper canines were removed, and the bone of the pallete grinded/cut down under the gumline area, an oral surgeon could correct this “boxy” appearance of my mouth and lips.,

Hi, I’m starting to become self aware of my teeth and the missing teeth i have. I know it’s my fault my teeth are in the way they are but i’m wanting to get something done about them. Now i’m afraid of needles and the drills used, is there any cosmetic dentist that could put me to sleep to get all my teeth out so i could either have implants or dentures fitted.,

I’ve been told that all of my teeth need to be pulled out at the same time but I have a heart condition, what should I do?

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr. Patel: I am an ex-smoker and recently went to the dentist and after my examination and x-rays were taken I was told that the remaining 17 teeth that I have, needs to be pulled because they are all lose. My dentist want’s to schedule me to have them all pulled at one time and to go with dentures, but I have some concerns about that. I have high blood pressure and I have a “mitro prolaspe vavle”, and have been told that a person could suffer a heart attack from having that many teeth pulled at one time, and if done is dentures the only other option I have?,

Q.
Hi i am 37 when i was18 my dentist removed all my back teeth top and bottom and my experience was so bad i never went back to the dentist till i was 23 which resulted in me having 5 crowns 2 root fillings and 3 normal filling although i dreaded the appointments i went as i wanted my teeth sorting then my dentist retired and for the last 5 years have had 3 dentists i am now with my current dentist and my 3 bottom teeth which were filled are all cracked and recedeing even my bottom root filling looks like it is receding my dentist checked my teeth and said my gums were receding i have to see a hygenist every 3 months however i cannot eat or chew because of my bottom teeth yet it seems she would rather let my bottom teeth deteriate rather than crown then i have a really bad gag reflex but she says the only thing i can do is be reccomened to a specialist to get rear dentures fitted so i dont eat with my front teeth even though i currently cant have been on soup and soft food for a year now and can feel my health deterating is there anything i can do,

I’ve lost my bridge and I don’t have a lot of money, what can I do to have it replaced?

Friday, June 4th, 2010
Q.
Hi I’m a 28yr old male suffering from gum disease. I have had treatment done from the NHS as I had rotten teeth, which eventually got sorted with a brace. However, I had a bridge fitted to replace my bottom 4 teeth, which again was under the NHS to to my financial circumstances. Recently, my bridge came loose and fell out and got lost. I’m now worried I will have to pay huge sums of money to have it replaced. I’m tight on finances as it is. Can you advise what’s best to do?,
