I have a root infected molar tooth should I have an implant

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008
Q.
I have a molar tooth which has been root filled & has had a crown for several years. An infection developed in the gum root which was treated by antiobiotics but my dentist is certain it will recur & has advised removal of this tooth. If I want an implant how long should I wait after extraction due to the posible presence of infection still being there? Can you give me any other advice as to the best way to go about this. Should my own dentist remove the tooth or should the cosmetic dentist do the whole job? Many thanks.

I had 4 teeth extracted and my denture does not fit

Sunday, March 9th, 2008
Q.
Good afternoon, Dr. Patel. I am in need of professional advice. I have had my four front bottom teeth extracted today and a denture fitted. Once the numbness cause by the injections had subsided and I was able to have a closer look at my ‘new teeth’ I find, to my horror, that there is a 2mm gap between the ‘new teeth’ and my gum. Obviously, the denture does not fit properly. It looks absolutely grotesque. I have an appointment to see my Dentist tomorrow……what should I be looking for? I am totally shaken by what I see and I don’t know what can be done. Can you advise? Kind regards

What sort of dental crown should I get for £1500 ?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008
Q.
My dentist recommends a titanium implant at £1634 for a missing incisor. He says this will also require an anterior crown at £1500. This seems expensive for a crown. What sort of quality ought I expect for this sort of money?
