i have recently been fitted with a one tooth denture and i am not happy is there another solution

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009
Q.
I have recently been fitted with a one tooth denture ( eye tooth )on a metal palate which clips onto my top side teeth. I do have a recurring gum problem and the reason I have a palate fitted is because my previous crown root disintegrated when the crown itself broke and the root had to be removed from my gum. I have only had this solution for four days and cannot get used to it. I cannot taste my food and it causes me to retch. Is there another solution?

Should i need to wear braces for 2 year to close a 4 inch gap between my front teeth any advice

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009
Q.
Dr dentist, i am having brace in two week time beacuse of a 4 inch gap between my front teeth and 2 inch my bottom. when i visited my orthodontist he made it clear, he cannot close my front teeth gap completely but he can close it slightly because from his own view , if he closes it completely my teeth will look weird . (because of other patients experience) from this i feel quite disappointed because my main aim of the entire treatment is to sort out the gap before i go uni in the next two years. for this i have intended to urge him that id like the gap to close completely but before, i would like to know what you think about this decision and also i’m meant to wear the braces for twoyears which seems quit a long time just to close a 4 inch gap slight not completely, i just dont understand. any advice would be appreciated. thankx

i had two of my upper teeth removed what are the option for me to close that gap

Monday, June 1st, 2009
Q.
I had two get two of my upper teeth (left hand side) removed as I had a bad infection in my gum. They two teeth were together and have left quite a large gap. I am very aware of this gap and is beginning to have an effect on my self confidence. I treid a plastic plate but i was very uncomfortable with it. I’m getting more and more down about it and wondered is there anything I can do??? Look forward to your advice.

is it possible to place an implant after bone grafting in my lower left second molar

Monday, June 1st, 2009
Q.
I’m 1 31 year old female and (due to dental negligence) am likely to need my lower left second molar extracting. I’m wondering if it’s always possible to place an implant here – I’m prepared to have bone grafts and so on but I’m really worried that even with this treatment an implant might not be possible in this region. I’ll obviously have a consultation with a specialist in implant dentistry but, for now, could you let me know if an implant can usually be placed here (followig grafting etc). Many thanks.

I my tooth broke in half could i have it removed and a falsh one put in how much will it cost

Monday, June 1st, 2009
Q.
I fell and broke my tooth in half it was a slightly protruding tooth anyway so the gap between my teeth either side is smaller than the original tooth. Could i have the tooth removed and a falsh one put in that will not look too out of place and roughly how much does this cost.

i have recieved a quote for 7000 pounds for dental implant but i feel this is a lot of money

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr i currently have 4 front crowns in my upper jaw that are continously coming loose due to fractures and wear and tear. i only have 1 to the left and 3 to the right of my natural teeth left in the upper with no molars left in lower jaw either. i have recieved a quote of £7,000 for impalnts but feel this is a lot of money for only 4 teeth when i could have a complete upper denture fitted for less, i am also concerned that although i now take care of my remaining teeth the damege is already done and i will only have to spend thousands of more pounds throughout time having individual implants fitted.
