Should i need to wear braces for 2 year to close a 4 inch gap between my front teeth any advice

Q. Dr dentist, i am having brace in two week time beacuse of a 4 inch gap between my front teeth and 2 inch my bottom. when i visited my orthodontist he made it clear, he cannot close my front teeth gap completely but he can close it slightly because from his own view , if he closes it completely my teeth will look weird . (because of other patients experience) from this i feel quite disappointed because my main aim of the entire treatment is to sort out the gap before i go uni in the next two years. for this i have intended to urge him that id like the gap to close completely but before, i would like to know what you think about this decision and also i’m meant to wear the braces for twoyears which seems quit a long time just to close a 4 inch gap slight not completely, i just dont understand. any advice would be appreciated. thankx

A. I would really need to see you to give you a complete plan.  In my practice we treat large gaps all the time.   I would need to assess the spaces you have and look at a combination of treatments of orthodontics to close the spaces, implants to fill any spaces and possible veneers to create a beautiful smile.

Good day Doctor,

I’m just seeking for the 2nd opinion.

I had lost 2 teeth on my left hand side (up and down) and planning for Implant and in same time leveling my front tooth without crowning.

After the consultation the dentist suggested go for braces to level and align my teeth and same time close the gap on the missing tooth by using braces method.

In your experience did you ever close the gap without the implant by applying the braces methods.

Me at the age of 40 will you suggest to go for Implant or braces based on given info.

Pleased to hear yours, thank you.

Mike
