What is your opinion on flexible dentures?

Monday, April 19th, 2010
Q.
Last December my bridge failed, since then I have had an acrylic denture to replace my upper left 1 and upper right 1,2, & 3. I find the denture uncomfortable and it moves around too much. After a consultation at the Bristol Dental hospital a new upper partial cobalt chrome denture was recommended which would also include upper right 6 &7 which have been missing now for some years. After looking on the internet to find out about this type of denture I also read about flexible dentures which appear to offer many advantages although one website said they did not always fit well and were not adjustable. What is your opinion of the flexible denture and which would you recommend?,

Can I simply have a veneer placed on my damaged tooth?

Friday, April 16th, 2010
Q.
I have a bridge consisting of 4 crowns and a bridge of 3. I recently had an accident which broke the porcelain off the front of one of the crowns, but rest of bridge is undamaged. My dentist thinks I should have the whole thing replaced, but I wonder if it would be possible to just have a veneer put on the damaged tooth and, if so, how much this is likely to cost? I understamd that the bridge is what they used to refer to as “gold bonded porcelain”.,

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010
Q.
i have a baby tooth which at the age of 38 is now becoming loose, but x-rays show there is no 2nd tooth in the gum to come down to replace the baby one. Is it possible to have a bridge or would i need to have a false tooth screwed into my gum. I do not want a false tooth on a plate :-(. And i would like to know the prices please. Thank you.,

Would be sensible for me to have the root extracted and have a bridge done now, then a bone graft and implant later on?

Monday, April 12th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I had an accident recently in November 2009 where I fractured the root of my upper front left tooth and have had it extracted (with the root still left in place-this was done in case I was to have an implant). I am now looking into my options for either a bridge or an implant. At this stage I am considering getting a bridge (due to both money and time restraints) but would like some advice on the implications of removing the root now for the bridge and whether this will affect me having an implant at a later stage in any way? Could you please advise me and give your opinion whether it would be sensible for me to have the root extracted and have a bridge done now then a bone graft and implant later on? Kind Regards,

I have bad dental decay, what should I do?

Monday, April 12th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I am looking for some answers. I am only in my early thirties and my mouth is full of dental decay. I am not even sure where I should start to get this corrected. The teeth that are decaying probably cant be saved, so I figure I will need dental implants. Can you suggest where I should start, I know it will be very expensive and I will probably only be able to do one tooth at a time. Thank you.,

Will my receding gums stop my dental bridge from being fitted?

Monday, April 12th, 2010
Q.
I had a front tooth extracted that needed to be taken out due to bone lose. The gum above the tooth also started to receed. The recession was not bad, the gum just started to pull away from the tooth a little. I believe the cause was harsh brushing. I now wear a flipper and hate it. I am going in in three days for a dental bridge consultaion. I want to know if my receeded gum will hamper my ability to be fitted for a bridge, or can a bridge be built to cover the bit of gum that has pulled back.,
