Will my receding gums stop my dental bridge from being fitted?

Q. I had a front tooth extracted that needed to be taken out due to bone lose. The gum above the tooth also started to receed. The recession was not bad, the gum just started to pull away from the tooth a little. I believe the cause was harsh brushing. I now wear a flipper and hate it. I am going in in three days for a dental bridge consultaion. I want to know if my receeded gum will hamper my ability to be fitted for a bridge, or can a bridge be built to cover the bit of gum that has pulled back.,
A. The collapse of the extraction socket during healing often causes bridge teeth to look longer than the natural counterpart. Dental implants placed during the intial socket healing help to reduce this problem. There are also bone & gum grafting tecniques to reverse it.
