Can I simply have a veneer placed on my damaged tooth?

Q. I have a bridge consisting of 4 crowns and a bridge of 3. I recently had an accident which broke the porcelain off the front of one of the crowns, but rest of bridge is undamaged. My dentist thinks I should have the whole thing replaced, but I wonder if it would be possible to just have a veneer put on the damaged tooth and, if so, how much this is likely to cost? I understamd that the bridge is what they used to refer to as “gold bonded porcelain”.,
A. It is very difficult to bond to these bridges but a temporary repair is possible. You could try it but will probably need a new bridge eventually.
