Q.
Hello i have a problem with one of my two front teeth, which is more prominent than the first, the problem for me is simply cosmetic, its very noticable when i smile as a have a broad smile and this particular tooth is noticably more orward than the other, i have also noticed that over the past year or so it seems to be moving more forward is there a possibility to aline so to spek this tooth, or to set straight both of the front teeth? i am 33 years old at present and im certain that this tooth is going to become more and more prominent than the rest of my teeth thank you, i look forward to your reply

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
I had a crown fitted 10 yrs ago and a few months ago it began to annoy me as it was catching on my tongue causing minor ulcers .I made an appointment with my dentist and he smoothed my crown off ,since then i have had problems eating when eating cold n hot food .On returning to the dentist he is now saying that I have fractured my crown although I think it was him when he smoothed my crown off . What is my best move now I am on tax credit just now but dont know what to do for the best ? can u give me options of what to do next ? Personally i think he is dodging the issue and trying to palm me off with telling me to apply colgate sensitive paste on tooth every night to calm my pain .can u get a replacement crown on nhs?

Would it be possible just to have the tooth filled instead of root canal treatment

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
My dentist(locum)has suggested root canal treatment and a crown. I have a temporary filling. As a pensioner I am worried about the cost, but would prefer not to lose the tooth. Would it be possible just to have the tooth filled?

My broken tooth did not leave enough for the crown to be attached what are my options?

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009
Q.
Hello, Two years ago I had the root removed from one of my teeth. At the time the dentist said the tooth may break and a crown will have to be fitted. The tooth did break and did not leave enough for the crown to be attached. I would like to know what my options are as my dentist wants to gring the adjoining tooth down and fit a double crown. She said there is a risk of damaging the adjoining tooth, causing permenant sensetivity. Could you please advise what is the best treatment. many thanks

How come that the tooth under the crown can become bad?

Monday, August 10th, 2009
Q.
I got in September 2007 a tooth crown. After 2 years the crown got loose and I went back to the dentist. The dentist removed the crown and told me the tooth is bad and the tooth broken inside the crown, so that the crown come loose. But how come that the tooth become bad, when he got cleaned completely before the crown get placed over. Because under the crown a tooth can normally not get bad. Please, I hope you can answer the question: Is the dentist to blame and I have to pay for the repair? Because I think a crown most hold at least 10 years and not just 2 years. I can understand if the glue is not very strong, then the crown can get loose. Thanks a lot.

Hi, I had a crown fitted on one of my molars about 2 years ago. Just recently I noticed that my gum lining the tooth has turned black. Is this normal? And are there any negative effects of this over time if I leave it without seeing a dentist?

One of my nearly front teeth has a crown. Tonight the enamel has broken off and of course it looks unsightly. Do you know if it would be possible to have a gold tooth/crown?? I have so few teeth left along that side and have to use a plate, which I dont really like. Any information would be greatly accepted.

What is the difference between the NHS and private crowns

Saturday, August 8th, 2009
Q.
Hi Here’s my situation i was playing football and in a freak accident i went up for a header and the opposition knocked half of my central incisor and three quarters of my lateral incisor. I want to go private on the the insurance but they’ll only accomodate 200 pounds. Will the nhs crown be shaped and correct to my own teeth, and also what would the difference be between the nhs and private. I will look forward to your reply. Thanks
