Can u suggest how i can file and straighten my squared teeth?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi there, I have big front teeth which are very square looking. I hate smiling because i feel they really don’t suit my face and look awful. What would be the best way to sort this problem? Do you think my dentist could file down the sides of the teeth and then use a brace to restraighten them?

Are veneers or braces better for crooked teeth?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi there The 2 teeth next to my front teeth are crooked (they protrude forwards) Would i be better to go for a brace or have a veneer? I’ve heard that braces work but the results are not permanent..so this puts me off. Are veneers more permanent?

Should i get my teeth removed?

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi i’m 15 years old and i don’t live in uk (i’m a student studying in sri lanka) but please do answer my questions :)i’ve been visiting so many dentists and orthodontist for consultations on braces and all of them tells me that i need to extract 4 teeth if i wanted to get braces done.. well..i don’t want to remove any teeth but.. my front teeth are front and they slightly overlap and i’ve got an extra tooth on the bottom..other teeth are quite straight and they don’t look crooked and they (dentists and orthodontists also said that too) they say that i have approximately 8~10mm of space when i bite my teeth together and that my teeth are crowded.. would i really have to get my 4 teeth removed?

Can u please advice on crooked teeth cause the adjacent teeth to move and become loose?

Saturday, August 29th, 2009
Q.
A couple of years ago i got braces on only my upper two front teeth. And now one tooth is moving a little bit. I think it may be one of my other teeth causing it to move, because my other teeth are still crooked. Also, sometimes when i press down on the tooth it moves. Not like its loose, just like underneath. Like its trying to click into place. This is the only tooth that I’m having a problem with. If you could help me that would be awesome.

Is there a possibility of getting veneers done at NHS?

Saturday, August 29th, 2009
Q.
Hi. My teeth are badly eroded and they have started to crack. I hate smiling and getting pictures taken. I was wondering if it was possible to get venirs on the Nhs. It would make me so much happier and more confident.

Can u advice the best treatments available for straightening crooked tooth?

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009
Q.
Hi,over the last 8-10 years my 2 upper front teeth have clearly protruded forward and it seems my teeth have become more crooked in general,i would like them staightened but there seems to be a vast array of braces to choose from. i am 39 years old and concerned whether braces work on an adult with much success, also 2 of my upper front teeth are noticeably smaller than the others, can you advise the best treatment to make these teeth the same as the others, thanks

My teeth are crooked can anything be done to my incisors or canines.

Q.
When i was 11 i had a brace, it was,to pull my 4 top incisors out as they were not curved, but straight, making my canines look like fangs. This was a removable brace, with an extra piece at night that went round my head.Anyway, it didnt work and nothing else was done, i dont know why. It has bothered me ever since. i am almost 40 now, and i put my hand over my mouth when i laugh and try not to show my teeth. Can anything be done, either to my incisors or canines..ie filing them as they look longer than my insisors, making it look worse. Thank you for your time.

My teeth are crooked and I cant afford to pay privately what are my options now?

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009
Q.
Hi dr, i had fixed braces for 18months when i was 12 i wore the retainer as instructed and now im 26 they are back how they were. due to my age my dentist informed me i would not be eligable for nhs treatment for braces as i was over 18. i cant afford to pay privatly , my front 2 cross over slightly but its the next 2 cross over front 2 and one sticks right out of my lips when i close my mouth. the rest arent very straight but it just the front ones which bother me. i try not to smile if possible because of this and i want to know is there no way for me to get this through the nhs or can i get a home kit to do it myself i know you wouldnt reccommend for me to attempt it myself but it has got to that stage where i would. please help thanks x

Would the fitting of a damon brace interfere with the perfect bite?

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009
Q.
I have read about Damon Braces in the USA and have seen good results, my lower teeth are straight, I have never required any dental work, just reg. check ups, and oral hygenist visits. However I do have a front teeth overlapping problem, the two teeth both sides of the main incisors, have been told by my dentist in Australia that I have a perfect bite. 1.Would the fitting of a Damon brace interfere with the perfect bite. 2.Would the fitting of a Damon brace to my upper teeth, require a brace on my lower teeth?
