I have just paid £20000 for a new set of teeth

Monday, September 15th, 2008
Q.
I have just paid £20,000.00 for a new set of upper and lower teeth. They have been fixed to 8 implants, 4 at top and 4 at bottom. (I have since discovered that 5-6 implants are recommended for each bridge)The job was finished only 7 days ago and already one of the teeth has broken been glued back in and has now broken again in the same place. This happened aprroximately 5 times while i had my tempary teeth. My Dentist says it’s is because i am only 43 years old and a male so my bite is stronger than a normal person having this type of work done. But each time this has happend i have been chewing soft food and not biting anything remotley hard.I feel the damage is being done when both sets of teeth come together when chewing.Would you advise me to pay for a second opinion because i am slowly loosing all confidence in my present dentist and do not think i should accept the broken tooth being glued back in everytime it breaks. I am now begining to wonder whether both sets of new teeth are lined up properly or maybe something else could be wrong with the work i’ve had carried out. Hope you can help.

I really want to sort my teeth out once and for all

Monday, September 15th, 2008
Q.
I really want to sort my teeth out once and for all!. I’m not sure where to go first. Do I go to an ‘ordinary’ dentist and then get recommended for cosmetic work? Or if I contact a ‘cosmetic’ dentist will all the problems be sorted out by that one person. My teeth are crooked but I also have gum disease which is getting much worse, particularly around one of my front teeth (in the upper jaw). I have not been to a dentist for about 5 years, also I am 43. (Definitely long in the tooth!) If someone has got severe gum disease, even if it is sorted out, what are the chances the original teeth can be corrected? And how is gum diease sorted out, how long does it take? I don’t know if this is true or not, but I’ve heard the bacteria can be eating away at teeth under the gum and into the jaw. So I’m just wondering if this damage will mean any correction work is doomed. (My teeth don’t wobble but I’m sure I’m beginning to feel some ‘shift’ and loosening)

I want perfect teeth and need to find a bristol cosmetic dentist

Thursday, July 31st, 2008
Q.
I have a photo of a person who’s teeth I think are perfect. Given this photo, would a cosmetic dentist be able to recreate that look in my teeth? I regularly attend the local (Bridgwater, Somerset) dentist, but don’t think that he would be appropriate so I would have to find one from the list of Bristol based dentists on this site.

I am unhappy as my front two teeth are too big

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008
Q.
My front teeth are a lot larger than all of my others. I have been to see various consultants/specialsts unsuccessfully since I was 12 (16 years). Nobody will do anything to shorten them as the actual teeth are strong and healthy. I have filed them down slightly but this hasn\’t helped. What can I do? Please help
