I really want to sort my teeth out once and for all

Q. I really want to sort my teeth out once and for all!. I’m not sure where to go first. Do I go to an ‘ordinary’ dentist and then get recommended for cosmetic work? Or if I contact a ‘cosmetic’ dentist will all the problems be sorted out by that one person. My teeth are crooked but I also have gum disease which is getting much worse, particularly around one of my front teeth (in the upper jaw). I have not been to a dentist for about 5 years, also I am 43. (Definitely long in the tooth!) If someone has got severe gum disease, even if it is sorted out, what are the chances the original teeth can be corrected? And how is gum diease sorted out, how long does it take? I don’t know if this is true or not, but I’ve heard the bacteria can be eating away at teeth under the gum and into the jaw. So I’m just wondering if this damage will mean any correction work is doomed. (My teeth don’t wobble but I’m sure I’m beginning to feel some ‘shift’ and loosening)

A. As a cosmetic dentist I also treat the other diseases in in the mouth such as gum disease and abnormal wear patterns.  Your point about gum disease is well made and it is essential that all underlying disease is correctly diagnosed and involved in a comprehensive treatment plan along side ” cosmetic dentistry”. At Aviva Cosmetic Dentistry I offer a free cosmetic Consultation .  If this is of interest to you please visit my web site or teleplone 01727854429 to make a free cosmetic consultation appointment.

Hi, I really need my teeth sorted and don’t have a clue where to sart, I haven’t bin to the dentist since I was 18 and I’m 24 now and in them 6 years I was randomly attacked by three men whilst out and they knocked one of my front teeth out and also have mad my other front tooth to go grey, almost black. I hear this is because the nerv is dead? Now I’m older and working and might wanna get other jobs in the future I don’t want this to ruin my chances or my life and want to sort them out ASAP! All I know is that it’s going to cost, so is there anyway you can help? Are there dentist that you can set up a payment plan to pay monthly??
