I have just paid £20000 for a new set of teeth

Q. I have just paid £20,000.00 for a new set of upper and lower teeth. They have been fixed to 8 implants, 4 at top and 4 at bottom. (I have since discovered that 5-6 implants are recommended for each bridge)The job was finished only 7 days ago and already one of the teeth has broken been glued back in and has now broken again in the same place. This happened aprroximately 5 times while i had my tempary teeth. My Dentist says it’s is because i am only 43 years old and a male so my bite is stronger than a normal person having this type of work done. But each time this has happend i have been chewing soft food and not biting anything remotley hard.I feel the damage is being done when both sets of teeth come together when chewing.Would you advise me to pay for a second opinion because i am slowly loosing all confidence in my present dentist and do not think i should accept the broken tooth being glued back in everytime it breaks. I am now begining to wonder whether both sets of new teeth are lined up properly or maybe something else could be wrong with the work i’ve had carried out. Hope you can help.

A.

I am sure you have discussed these problems with your dentist.  It certainly sounds as though you have a difficlut bite and careful adjustment of the way the teeth meet will probably be necessary to reduce the chances of future fractures.
