Hi, I’ve just been to my local dentist and he has told me I need a lot of cosmetic work doing on my teeth which is going to cost £5000. I have an NHS exemption and have been told I can’t get any help with the cost. I struggle with the way I look due to my teeth and try not to smile so no one sees them. Can you suggest if I am able to get any help at all as I have very little money but can’t keep going on the way I am. Thanks. I hope you can provide some advice.
Hello, I really have a fear of dentists and I really don’t want braces. I’ve been told that my teeth can be straightened using WaterLase, is this true and how much would it cost? I really don’t like smiling and want to feel confident when I’m around people and feel happy when smiling. Please help me. I’m very nervous about dentists because my last dentist cut my gums while doing a check-up and I have never been able to be confident about going back so I really don’t want braces due to the pain and how long it takes to straighten out my teeth.

Hello Dr Patel. I would really like to know why my teeth keep breaking, could it have anything to do with a vitamin B12 deficiency? I’m finding I cannot afford to look after them. Is there any help I can receive? Top and bottom on both sides teeth have just snapped, I’m finding it difficult to smile and usually I’m a happy person but this is depressing me. My gums are okay though. I eat healthily and never eat sweets but I do indulge in savoury foods. My sister has had gum disease and had to have a full mouth of implants, I’m a bit scared that will be me soon.
Hi, a year ago I had root canal surgery performed on my front tooth. I have had ongoing problems with this tooth since I chipped it when I was 12 years of age. I have had it re-filled 3 times. Before I had the root canal, I was told I had an infection as the filling came lose. It is now black. I’m a 20 year old girl and this is really affecting my confidence. Preferably I wouldn’t like to get a crown but I am looking for a long term solution. What are my options in fixing this tooth?

When my mother was living I had what my dentist use to call the perfect smile. My mother use to make sure I took extra good care of my teeth. She use to always say your smile is the first thing people see so you should always care about your smile. When she passed away I completely stopped caring for my teeth. I barely brushed them and I hardly ever flossed, I never liked doing that anyway as my mom use to do that. But I was wondering If I have really rotten teeth and some that have broken off, is it still possible for me to have a beautiful smile again like I use to when I was Fourteen.
I know you may have covered this before but I need to find out. I had a total clearance a while ago and I am now on my second set of full dentures. It is impossible for me to eat any real food. If it’s soft, sloppy and tasteless then that is about all I can manage without them falling out. I have used dental paste, and it’s still no good. It is making me ill. My diet is poor, my self esteem is suffering and I cannot face being in social circles because my teeth just wont stay still. I live alone and am becoming more and more isolated which is leading to serious depression, I have now been advised to consider medication by my doctor
is it possible to have a fixed bridge on the NHS? I understand that this will wipe out all of the issues I have mentioned.
Please advise me.
Hi, hello. How much would you estimate an upper implant denture to cost? I am only a 43 female and I have had to rely on a full NHS denture for a few years which I cannot bear any longer. My confidence is at an all time low and thought a denture implant may be the answer to my problems. I am in good health but lost my teeth after pregnancy and I cannot carry on with my current dentures. Also can you get a lower implant denture. When I got my last set of dentures you could see that teeth aren’t sitting straight and dentist has you in and out of chair in minutes, which really isn’t good enough.
I’m 34 and very depressed about my receding gums. I had my gums stretched on the NHS and I feel like this has done nothing as my gums are now non-existent and my teeth are yellow, what do you suggest. I’ve given up hope and I’ve got no confidence. Do you think I need false teeth. I’m thinking about re-mortgaging to find funds to get my teeth sorted. Doesn’t help that I’m single so I feel like I’m going to be on my own forever now as my teeth look awful. Someone thought I was in my forties the other day. I reckon it’s because my teeth make me look a lot older. Feel sorry for myself as most of my mates smoke and abuse themselves yet they have nice pink healthy gums and white teeth to be proud of. I am a very nervous person about going to the dentist, I do not know what to do and would like some advice. I have a couple of teeth which have been knocked out and a few missing teeth, I also know I need fillings. I find eating certain foods difficult and I feel uneasy when I have to properly smile and I don’t feel confident when opening my mouth. My confidence of attending the dentist is very low, I do want to get treatment on my mouth but I am very nervous. Do you have suggestions on what I should do and do cosmetic dentists provide a service to nervous patients?
Hi. I was wondering if you could help me please I’m going to be completely honest because it’s really destroyed my life, When I was younger I had epilepsy and the medication I was treated with ruined my teeth. All my life I have been bullied over my problem and after having two children I would like to have a photo with them but cant I’m so scared there going to get bullied too because of the way there mummy looks. I know there are people out there who have a worse looking teeth then me, but it really effects my life I have no friends and social anxiety all because I’m afraid to open my mouth.
