I Need A Lot Of Cosmetic Work On My Teeth, But There Is No Way I Can Afford £5000. How Can I Find A Way To Get The Treatment?

Q.
Hi, I’ve just been to my local dentist and he has told me I need a lot of cosmetic work doing on my teeth which is going to cost £5000. I have an NHS exemption and have been told I can’t get any help with the cost. I struggle with the way I look due to my teeth and try not to smile so no one sees them. Can you suggest if I am able to get any help at all as I have very little money but can’t keep going on the way I am. Thanks. I hope you can provide some advice.

Hello and thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately cosmetic dentistry isn’t available on the NHS, your dentist may be able to refer you to a dental hospital which may provide you with reduced rates. However the waiting list may be lengthy so you will probably need to be patient. You may also want to to get some work done in the mean time, so it’s important you research what treatments are available and try and shop around and find a good deal or offer available. Once you know what your aiming for, you’ll have a goal to save up for. Best of luck, Dr Andrew Moore.
