chould i have a crown veneer or a filling

Friday, September 26th, 2008
Q.
My 2 front teeth have been filled at the back -one more than the other. a filling came out recently and my dentist refilled . The teeth are slightly discoloured . Crowns have been recommended -1 as necessary and the other for obvious cosmetic reasons. My dentist has said that, because of the fillings, the teeth are thin and would not he would not recommend veneers? Opinion/advice please since crowns seem a drastic step Thank you

How can i repair surface tooth loss from my front teeth

Friday, August 15th, 2008
Q.
Hello there. I have recently noticed that i have quite bad surface tooth loss on my top four front teeth. Because of this where the bottoms of my front top teeth are quite thin and fragile, one is now starting to chip. My dentist has confirmed this to me. The answer they gave me was ” there is no repair” just prevention work to make sure this problem does not get any worse. But i do want to repair my teeth and stop these chips from happening anymore. I feel i can no longer smile at people because although tiny, these chips feel massive to me. the tooth surface loss in sadly to my having my tongue pierced in my early youth and i used to roll the stud along my upper teeth, and also alot of fizzy drinks. What treatment would you reccomend and what sort of price am i looking at.

Can I have my veneers replaced with composite veneers

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008
Q.
Dr. Caplan, I have been a case of bad denistry. I had six top porcelain veeners at age 18 that are now bulky, fake looking and long. I used to have a small chip.I am 23 now. I want to have them removed and want the doctor to use composite resin to shape them the same as my old teeth to get my character back. Can this be done? I know it takes a lot of skills from the doctor. Have you ever heard this case before? Even though I have tooth removal, can composite replace my porcelain case. I know I will have more maintenace however, I like the composite look a lot better. Thank you for your time.

What can be used for a small gap of 2 mm between my front teeth

Saturday, July 26th, 2008
Q.
I have a gap between my two front teeth, it’s not too big, a couple of millimetres wide. What type of work would be used to fill in the gap? …and roughly how much would that cost? Kind regards

I want porcleain dental bonding on 4 of my teeth

Friday, July 25th, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr Rob Tennet First of all I would like to congratulate you on your impressive career history you have, this is the reason I selected you to ask my questions. I have a few questions and was wondering if you can help. I am thinking about getting 4 of my teeth worked on using dental bonding (ideally porcelain rather than composite bonding).
Q1) How much roughly should I be paying per tooth to have porcelain bonding done?

Q2) I hate having injections on my gums. If I have porcelain bonding done on 4 of my teeth, would I requre any injections on my gums?

Q3) Does having porcelain bonding really stain my teeth in the long run, if so is it really obvious? Thanks for you help Regards

composite veneers or porcleain veneers on bottom teeth?

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008
Q.
I had some porcelain veneers done 4yrs ago on my top front teeth, which still look like new now. I went to see my new dentist at same practice to enquire about porcelain veneers for bottom teeth, but was informed that I wouldn’t be able to have them so was told I would have to have composite veneers. I had them done just prior to xmas 2007 and already the composite on 2 are badly worn. I was informed procedure would take approx 30mins per tooth, yet I had 6 done in 90mins! I would appreciate your views and advice on this matter. Have I been misinformed? If so, is there anything I can do about it?
