What can be done for chipped tooth treatment gone wrong?

Hi my boyfriend chipped the edge of one of his front teeth – whilst he had a white filling added two weeks ago it had come off while he was eating. When he went back to the dentist this time he asked for another filling but was concerned as it might just keep coming off – the dentist said he could use a pin but didn’t like to do that procedure So my boyfried thought he would just proceed with doing a normal filling and that he would just have to keep going back every time it came off But the dentist went ahead without consent to using the pin which has cracked his tooth and you can see it clearly through the white filling. My boyfriend is absolutely devestated. We live in rural wales and NHS dentists are like golddust so we have to go with whatever dentist is conveniently near! What do you recommend that he does? Are there any cheap monthly payments to get chipped tooth fixed?

What to do with chipped dental veneer?

Hi, I am 36, I had 6 front veneers on the nhs when I was 19. They are now of course falling apart and chipping. My dentist has given me many patch up jobs with fillings to hide the gaps. I am 33 weeks pregnant and today, one of my front teeth veneers chipped. I wondered if I would be able to ask my dentist to just replace the front 6 veneers for me? I think if I have just one replaced it will look odd. Would he charge me? I don’t think I would be able to get credit accepted! Also I found it very painful the first time and wonder if I should wait till after I have the baby? Many thanks,

Is 16 years not eligible to have veneers?

I was wondering if it is possible to get veneers on the nhs, as i had 2 accidents over the years and on each, chipped both my front teeth. At the moment I have caps on them both but one fell off and was put back on so that it sticks forward. The caps are also discoloured and noticible when you look at them. I was told by my dentist that when i reached 16 i could have veneers, yet when i asked at my last appointment he dismissed the question. I am now nearly 17 and have no confidence in my smile, i cannot smile with teeth and it gets me down. If i am not entitled to get veneers on the nhs then how much would it cost per tooth? the 2 teeth on either side of my front teeth are also very wonky aswel and i have gaps in these 4 teeth aswel as the discoloured and wonky caps.

Chipped tooth has a temporary filling can I have veneers on it?

My toddler ran at me with a heavy toy and chipped my top front tooth so it’s on the diagonal. I have had a temporary filling from an emergency NHS dentist. ( I’ve never had a filling before so know nothing about the proceedure etc. ) I saw my dentist today and he informs me that he will be able to do a new filling and make it look like a normal tooth. The rest of the tooth is fine. He said I won’t need a veneer, although could have one done later. I am worried the filling won’t be strong enough (my dentist said I would have to be careful biting into apples etc) What should I do. At the moment I’m finding the temporary filling very wierd and uncomfortable. Would a veneer be a better option or should I stick with the filling?

What is the recommended tooth paste for tooth with temp cap?

Hello there, i have just come back from a visit to the dentist i have not gone for a number of years due to being so scared of what they would say and do!! I have come back with an apptionment in December for 2 fillings and to have a chipped toothe capped, he has put a temp cap on it, my main question is that i have slilt Gingivtis, thius has scares the living days out of me as i am only in my 20’s, he tld me to change my mouth wash, and get a soft Toothe Brush and it should get better, what toothe Paste would be the best for this??? And how long should this temp cap last for??? Many thanks

Can tooth filling be removed or redone?

I chipped my front tooth in two small places and my dentist fixed it by slightly filling the tooth put some kinda tooth color stuff and then buffed it a little, but the shape of my new tooth is very uncomfortable and is bothering me can the stuff he put on my tooth be removed….

I have two chipped front teeth can I get crowns veneers from nhs?

I’m 17 and still in college, I’ve got 2 chipped front teeth due to rough play as a child, also some of my adult teeth are missing according to an x ray they aren’t there so I’m stuck with rather worn down baby teeth. I never smile in photos and my teeth severly effect my confidence. Can I get crowns/vineers on the NHS?
