My front two teeth have been chipped is veneers the only option in nhs?

Thursday, July 9th, 2009
Q.
My front two teeth have been chipped and when i first visited my dentist i asked whether he could tidy them up so i wasnt so self concious about them, i told him veneers were not an option due to the cost, iwa visiting him as an nhs patient. he said when i came back to have a back filling replaced he would put white fillings on my front teeth to make them stronger and more presentable. on my return he replaced my old filling at the back and said he couldnt put a filling in the front as it probably wouldnt hold very long and it would possibly break my teeth if it fell out, and my only option was veneers. i feel very disappointed as i was looking forward to being more confident smiling, in the back of my mind i feel it was because i was an nhs patient should i complain or just accept it.

Had an accident, teeth denture doesn’t fit, bad nhs aftercare, cheapest way to correct them

Sunday, June 14th, 2009
Q.
Hi there, I had a accident and had to have three of my front top teeth removed. The nhs dentist fitted a three teeth denture which does not fit properly and they are not meet my bottom teeth when i bite, so they stick out. I am very upset andn don’t know where to turn. Is there a cheap way of having them corrected. Also I had very bad aftercare from my dentist she did not tell me how to care for my denture and also should i take the three teeth denture out at night. Many Thanks for your help

Q.
Hi please help me,I HATE my teeth.I was born with a cleft lip and pallate so as you can imagin my teeth are in a real sate,They have gaps and chips in them are crooked and discoulerd. My bite is also way out of line. I realy want to be able to smile again, have pictures taken with my son and go out with my friends without wearing a scalf over my face. I have asked my dentist to take them all out and give me dentures, but he said he wouldnt recommend it as the way my mouth is(i have had bone grafts etc) he doesnt think that i will be able to hold them. There must be something i can have done. I dont have much money but am willing to do what i can do be able to afford to have something done to them(finance is not an option for me) All i want is to be able to smile at people most importantley my son and to have the confidence to be able to go out without my scalfs.

I am not sure whether i should go to a cosmetic dentist or to a orthodontist get my teeth done

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
Hi, wonder if you could help me. I am desparate to get my teeth done and am not sure whether I should go to a Cosmetic Dentist or to a orthodontist first. I have four upper teeth capped (front) and my teeth are now protuding which I hate. This has happened over the last 10 years. I did wear a brace for a while but when I stopped I developed a gap in my front teeth. My upper teeth are not aligned as I had a side one removed at the age of 15 and then the caps were made bigger to take this into account. In addition, I my normal teeth are discoloured and I want to have perfect white teeth with no gap. Do I have to replace the caps and also have root canal treatment on the other teeth both upper and lower that are noticeable when I smile or is there some other way of whitening teeth without going through this expensive process. Also, what do I do about the upper protuding teeth. Should this get checked before I have any cosmetic dentistry.

A slightest bit of my teeth came out and i do not feel pain do i need to go to dentist now

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Q.
Less than two months ago, I chipped one of my teeth on accident. It is just the slightest bit that came out and I do not feel pain. Is this something, though, that could cause me future problems? Should I bring this up to my dentist the next time I go for a scheduled appointment (about a month away), or do I need to go now and have it looked at?
