Would the tooth grinding adversely affect the implants?

Monday, October 26th, 2009
Q.
I am considering implants in my lower jaw as I have lost all the double back teeth. They were havily filled and all abcessed and I had to have them removed. I grind my teeth at night and in the day and wonder if this would have been a factor in my losing them to abcesses. I have had a mouthguard in the past but don’t use one now. Would the tooth grinding adversely affect the implants? Thank you

I have partial crown instead of a full crown Is its normal practice?

Friday, October 23rd, 2009
Q.
I was told i needed a crown on one of my back teeth and actually had it fitted today, when i got home and had a closer look i can see that i have not had a full crown as i was expecting but instead i have a patial crown that only covers half of my tooth.I am a little annoyed that this was not made clear me at the start as i would have rather have had a full crown as i feel that it would be much stronger. Is it normal practice to do this sort of crown?

Could you advice me on straightening of teeth?

Monday, October 19th, 2009
Q.
Hello Doc, I am 34 years old and I have a primary tooth between my front tooth and the #2. it protrudes infront the #2, which is still there but twisted behind it. the primary tooth is also shaking slightly. I’ve been to the dentist and i was told i might have to do an extraction. the dentist also gave me this explanation for my top row i hope you can understand. 432112234 the 1s are the two front teeth and they count in both directions as you can see, i have two #2s on the right one of them being the primary tooth… my smile is not one im very proud of so is there any advice you can give me in terms of getting it straightened out? thanks a mil!
