Should I replace a worn-away tooth with an implant or bridge?

i have recently lost a crown and the gum has receeded badly and worn away – i wanted an implant but fel this may not be on offer – i have a crown one side of the gab and a real one at other – is a bridge an option

Yes but it will probably mean drilling down the healthy tooth so an implant might be better
