Hi Dr Patel, my two front teeth are crowned. The crowns are old now and on one of them the metal is showing on the gum line. I would like to have these replaced with all ceramic crowns. My gum line is not symmetrical above these two teeth and I think the eventual result would be better if the gum was contoured. My question is, can all this treatment be carried out at the same time or do you have to wait some time after gum contouring. I am not keen on the idea of waiting as I think the look would be unsightly and the way my teeth look now is already getting me down. Many thanks for your time.

My crowns look fake, it’s really getting me down so what should I do?
Friday, September 14th, 2012Hello, I just wondered if you could help me something that has been bothering me for a while? When I was about 14 my dentist suggested I got caps for the teeth either side of my two front teeth because they were small & pointy. I’ve since been back 3 times to get my caps re-done because they looked awful, wrong colour, don’t fit, crooked, very obvious. I now am left with two horrible (quite blatantly obviously fake) looking teeth! I now have a tooth growing behind one Of my capped teeth so I am unsure of what that will do. I can’t imagine my teeth would look any worse than they already do. Is there anything I can do which won’t cost me an arm & a leg? I’m fed up of having to have the caps replaced, it’s really getting me down. Thank you in advance!
I have a cavity that formed under a crown that was installed less than 6 months ago. Is this normal or was the dentist negligent?

I’m getting my crowns renewed, what type should I get?
Thursday, March 17th, 2011Hello Mark, I am due to have my Caps re newed as they were fitted over 25 years ago. The top is black & my dentist has suggested having the porcelain caps (all white) and not with the black bit going through the tooth. With the black it would be £280 & without would be £380 each & i need 4. Please could you give me your opinion as to which one to get this time & how long would they last. Thank you very much for your help, kind Regards.

I already have crowns on my top front 6 teeth but gave never been happy with them. I have had them for around 11 years. I am looking to get replacement crowns of a smaller size and a whiter colour. Can you give me any tips in terms of making sure that I am happy with the results this time?

One of my crowns is cracked, does it need to be replaced?
Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011One of my front crowns has a crack across the back. What should my next course of action be. Can it be repaired or does it have to be replaced.? I think it is a porcelain crown-both my front teeth were replaced by crowns on insurance after they were damaged after an assault incident. Thanks for your advice.
