Should I Have My Whitened Teeth Before I Have A Bridge Fitted?

Q.
Hello Doctor Hughes, I really want to have my teeth whitened but I also need to a bridge fitted for a gap that I have in my upper set of teeth, I would like to know if I should get the teeth whitening done first and then the bridge to match them or have the bridge fitted first then have the whitening done? I’m currently saving up to have this done so would really appreciate some advice please, thank you in advance for your help

Hello there, Absolutely the correct thing to do is to have the whitening carried out first and I would advise a really good quality whitening that you can carry on at home , such as the Enlighten system. Being able to ‘top up’ your whitening will be important as the results fade slowly over time yet the colour of your new bridge will not

Best wishes
