My mother has dentures now is it okay to have 4 implants on the lower jaw and have bridges
Q. My mother is 70 y.o. and has had dentures for over 20 years. However because of the poor quality (Soviet) of dentures and not being able to eat in them she’s eaten down most of the lower side bone. Dentists in a dental clinic in Dubai advised for the lower jaw to set 4 implants and put a bridge and denture on top of it. I would like to get a second opinion from you. Many thanks,
A. This works well in many cases. However I would need to see her to check if she has enough bone (using a CT scan) for the implants and to check her mediavl history to make sure she is fit and healthy enough for the treatment.
