Is its advisable to replace veneers?

Q. Hello. I had veneers placed in my upper canines. However they are bulky and much bigger thay my original teeth. I would like to replace them. However I am worried that any further work done would damage my underlying teeth. How easy or advisable is it to remove veneers (they are well cemented)? Would you recommend replacing the veneers with no risk at all? Thank you.

A. Veneers are a cosmetic treatment so obviously if they don’t look right they aren’t right. Removing the veneer will entail trimming down some tooth tissue and if the veneer is how I suspect you will need even more tooth removing in the proces of making new veneers that are not bulk like the ones you have now.

You can have them replaced again provided the dentist is careful in removing the old veneers
