Is it possible to get my gums smaller and my teeth bigger?
Q. I have big gums and small teeth!! its kinda embarrassing. I have braces on right now and my orthodontist said if my gums dont go down then my braces will be taken off. im not sure why? is there a surgery that can take some of my gums off or what? and after that can be braces be back on? ive been on the internet lately and i think i have gum disease although my teeth arent red . i noticed a little red though but they are mostly a purple pinkish color . .but i was wondering is there anyway i can make my gums get smaller and make my teeth bigger? im a 14 year old african american thank you so much!
A. The swelling of the gums is normally caused by poor brushing around the brace. I guess the dentist is worried about the health of the gums. It might be worth using an electric brush if you have problems with a normal tooth brush, either way it sounds like you need to spend much longer cleaning the teeth under the brace to prevent problems in the future
It’s like we have the same problem because I’m African American and 14 too and I have braces!
How can I make my gum go down ? They are swollen and my last dentist didn’t do very good job all.all he did is he just put caps and my gums been swollen ever since then in high school. I have tried everything and nothing seem to work .and its hard to smile wheb my gums are big and swollen they are kind on top of my front tooth just in the between. So is there any way I can do for my gums ? And I’m 22 I been having mough surgery since I was 6 and I’m post to have an other one but I don’t want to end up like my mom to have fake teeth :(. Please help me I want pefect teeth and gums and perfect smile like everyone else.my dad said that I have adnormal mouth and idk what he means by that . So if u could please help out I don’t won’t to go tho another mouth surgery again .
