Im worried that I wont get my natural look of my dentures advice

Q. I am currently at the final stage of having dental implants – two implants on either side of a bridge for three missing top front teeth plus a crown for a fourth beside these.I have therefore been wearing a temp.crown and a partial denture for several months. My denture was based on an impression of my original teeth, looks natural and is almost identical to my own teeth.I was delighted with this and expected as good a result with my new permanent teeth. I had my first fitting and although these fill the space they look nothing like my original teeth. My dentist sent these back for adjustment but I am worried that I won’t achieve the natural look of my denture as each set of teeth was based on a different impression. Is it possible to combine impressions so that my permanent teeth look the same as my denture? Sorry this is so long winded. Your opinion would be very much appreciated. Thanks

A. I would take an impression of your denture to send to the technician or if possible go along to the technician and get him to take a look at what you have now so that he can try to copy it as best as possible. Sometime though it isn’t possible to acheive the same aesthetics with fixed teeth as it is with removable.

Mary Short Says :

I am at the final stage of having a dental implant fitted to my front left tooth, plus a new crown to my right front tooth and two further crowns either side. My dentist and technician have made three lots of porcelain teeth all of which look noting like my original teeth and do not fit correctly. I am now going back to see if they can get them right a fourth time. Is this unusual. I just want teeth that look as if they fit into my gums and do not look uneven.
