im 39 and i have real phobia my front tooth feel off the plate i have and need to sort it out

Q. Hello Dr Kailesh, i have a real phobia about dentists, have done since i was a child. I am 39 and recently had to go to my dentist as my front tooth fell off the plate i have. I have now come to the point of being so embarrassed with my teeth i have to sort it out.

A. I see this every day- people who have a dental phobia.
The only thing I can say is that dentsitry has come such a long way. You do need to feel comfortable and confident with the dentist who is carrying out the treatment. Alot of practices offer iV sedation to help you feel at ease throughout treatment. This may be a good option for you. I think it would be a good idea for you to go to your dentsit and discuss your problems- and Stress that you are nervous. I’m sure that they will try and make you feel at ease. If not, nothing is stopping you from going to another practice-until you feel comfortable in your surroundings. Good luck and I hope you get it sorted.
