Im 25 and i have overlapping teeth what can i do?

Q. Hello When I was 16 I wore a retainer to sort out my over bite and my front 2 top teeth which cross over (I was a thumb sucker as a child). My treatment was never finished. No, at 25yrs my main concern is my front two top teeth. One overlaps the other, the overlapping tooth get bashed quite a bit and the corner is slowly chipping/wearing away. Apparently I also push my tongue forward onto these two teeth every time I swallow (tongue thrusting) wish is slowly making it worse. I am looking to get my front teeth straightened but am not sure what sort of treatment this would involve and at what cost. Please could you advise on the best affordable solutions for me. I look forward to your reply Many Thanks,

A. I would suggest that you have a consultation with an specialist orthodontist to discuss which orthodontic appliances would best correct your overbite which you are concerned with.
I am confident that this can be improved or completely corrected there are loads of different orthodontic appliances on the market.
The options on the market vary from fixed conventional appliances to clear removable appliances, I would strongly suggest you see a specialist in orthodontics to achieve your desired result.
The cost of the treatment depends from practice to practice so the best option is to shop around and find somewhere that tailors to your budget.
Also with the tongue thrusting issue i would highly suggest that you ask about retention at your orthodontic consulations and what the cost would be at the end of the treatment as retention is life long and vital to prevent relapse of orthodontic result. I would suggest that you enquire about removable and fixed retention as retention can sometimes be at extra cost of the intial orthodontic treatment.
