i want my teeth whitening as they are not that great

Q. I want mt teeth whitening as they are not that great. i have a crown at the front which isten years old and could do with re doing and i have a tooth at the side which my dentist said it needs to be taken out and a new one needs putting in .how do i go about this please.from a nervous patient

A. You need to have your teeth fully assessed. If you have a tooth that needs to be taken out have it done first.  When you whiten your teeth it only affects natural tooth so fillings white or metal or crowns will not change colour.  The best way is to have your teeth whitening once they are healthy and then replace the crown to match your new whiter teeth.

this is exactly the information that i needed. I also want to have my teeth whitened but i also have a crown right smack in the front of my teeth, so i was wondering if that could be removed and i was searching online to see if a crown could be removed and replaced. thanks so much doc.
