I want 2 front teeth straightened with invsalign

Q. I am looking to have my two front teeth straightened as they protrude slightly. I paid for an assessment for invisalign to be told I was in the \’severe category\’ and it would take two and a half years due to the position of my jaw, and the way my teeth fit together. I am now thinking of having crowns but seems very drastic. Are there any other alternatives, i.e. normal braces or would I have the same problems as with Invisalign?

A. It is very difficult to give you an exact answer without seeing you or some xrays of your mouth. If your teeth are very crowded then treatment can take longer. However there are other ways to straighten your teeth. It MAY be possible to reduce the orthodontic treatment by maybe slightly compromising the final outcome. For example if your only concern is your two front teeth and you are happy to live with the other teeth the way they are then this could reduce the treatment time. In my practice we treat a lot of severe cases but have not found active treatment lasting longer than 18 months.
I hope this helps
