I suffer from sharp pains after my old bridge was replaced with a new one, why is this?

Q. Hi, I had a bridge fitted over 20 years ago and it has been fabulous – not a moments trouble with it. I recently underwent a course of tooth whitening and so the bridge needed to be replaced. The new bridge was fitted a few days ago but I now have sharp pain when I bite down. Does this sound like a problem with the bridge or the abutement teeth? thanks.
A. there are a few possibilities, I would investigate a fracture in the abutment or an incorrect “bite” on the bridge surface as a start. Rob
