I now have huge gap between my 2 front teeth can you help?

Q. Hi, I used to have perfect teeth but 6 years ago had to have a back tooth removed, the dentist that took the tooth out did not tell me all my teeth would spread out and I am now left with a huge gap between my 2 front teeth and receeding gums. I want my teeth moving back and a false/gold tooth puttin gin its place to ‘get my smile back’ can you help? and if so what costs are involved? thankyou,

A. Not all people’s teeth drift when they have a tooth taken out. It is always a possibility though. To close the gap inbetween your 2 front teeth, you can either have a brace to clse the gap or have veeners to create the illusion that the teeth meet. The only probelm with veneers, is that doing this on your fron 2 teeth only might make them look wide, so you may need to consider having 4 upper teth veneered for symmetry.
AS you said, you could always use a brace to move the teeth back- and have a dental implant in the space. This will not compromise the health of any existing teeth by drilling them- and dental implants are an excellent long term option. Alternatively, having a bridge to close the gap is an option- as long as you’re aware that this will mean ‘preparing’ the 2 teeth on either side.
It’s alot to take in and may be better for you to discuss this with your dentist who can draw you some diagrams and discuss everything with you in detail.
